The espionage role-playing game ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies will be released on PC (through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG) on May 21st. A PlayStation 5 version is planned for release later in 2026, according to developer ZA/UM.
Here is an overview of the game, via ZA/UM:
About
Dive into the story-driven world of ZERO PARADES, a new espionage RPG from ZA/UM. You play as a skilled but troubled agent sent on a critical mission. Rebuild your connections, unravel a dangerous conspiracy at a pivotal moment in history, and either succeed in a high-stakes game or risk total failure – yet again.
A Spy Like No Other
You are Hershel Wilk, known as CASCADE – a once-brilliant operative now struggling with the weight of past failures. Five years ago, a mission gone wrong left you haunted by what happened. Now, you’ve been called back for a new, secretive assignment – a chance to redeem yourself.
Welcome to the End of History
Dive into a captivating new city where a fierce battle for ideas and culture is unfolding. In ZERO PARADES, the city isn’t just a setting – it’s a living, breathing world full of hidden stories, painful pasts, and incredible wonders waiting to be uncovered.
Trust is a Volatile Plaything
Success in life often depends on having friends, but you’re facing a journey without them. Instead, you’ll encounter a cast of challenging characters – powerful bankers, ruthless figures from abroad, unsettling duplicates, a distrustful media personality, and even someone who seems incapable of feeling. Each person you meet has hidden motives and secrets that you’ll need to discover and use to your advantage.
Make It Up as You Go Along
Look, I’ve learned that failing is just part of the game – you’re gonna wipe a lot more than you win. It’s totally normal! The real skill isn’t avoiding failure, it’s about how you bounce back. When I’m playing, it feels like the game is throwing the dice, and honestly, they rarely roll in my favor. So you gotta think on your feet, adapt, and just hope you can deal with whatever happens next.
Key Features
- Become an Anti-Icon – Play as Hershel—brilliant, relentless, magnetic… and cursed. A former top operant whose touch turns everything to ash. She is as dangerous to her enemies as she is to her friends.
- Espionage Reinvented – Descend into a world of bootleg mind-erasure, failed space programmes, and state-sponsored pop stars. This is espionage stripped of glamour—no parades, no happy endings – at least probably not for you.
- Failing Forward – In the life of an operant, failure is inevitable. Here, it’s another way forward – every misstep opens doors that success would run swiftly by.
- A Story-Rich Espionage RPG – From the studio which brought you Disco Elysium. Blending the psychological depth of a spy novel with surrealist undertones and richly drawn characters.
- A Question of Identity – Who are you when no one is watching? Or, at least, when you *think* no one is? In ZERO PARADES, the answer will define much more than just the assignment. Cope with the terror of reality by giving up parts of yourself and try not to lose your mind in the process.
