Animated sitcoms have become incredibly popular, growing from a small part of Saturday morning television into a major player in primetime and streaming. It all started with the huge success of The Simpsons in the 1980s, which led to a thriving era of shows for adults. Today, we’re still seeing hits like South Park alongside newer favorites like Smiling Friends and Solar Opposites. Some of these shows have even been adapted into movies – one of the best animated sitcoms recently had a movie in 2022, but it’s leaving the Tubi streaming service soon.
Loren Bouchard’s animated series, Bob’s Burgers, is a hugely popular and critically acclaimed sitcom, so fans were excited when The Bob’s Burgers Movie was released in 2022. The film follows the Belcher family as they team up to solve a mystery and rescue their restaurant after a large sinkhole appears outside. Finding the movie on streaming hasn’t always been simple, and it’s about to become harder to watch as it’s leaving Tubi soon.
The Bob’s Burgers Movie Is a 10/10 Expansion of the Show
When an animated series gets its own movie, it usually means the show has been a hit for a long time, and The Bob’s Burgers Movie lived up to that expectation. Both audiences and critics loved it – it earned an 89% audience score and an 87% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is similar to the show’s usual 86% approval rating. The movie feels like an extended episode, made with a lot of love for the fans. It takes everything people enjoy about Bob’s Burgers – the warm humor and focus on characters – and makes it bigger and more dramatic. You’ll find plenty of familiar moments from the series, some genuinely touching scenes, and the same quirky humor you’d expect from the Belcher family. Plus, the musical numbers are fantastic – especially “Sunny Side Up Summer,” which you won’t be able to get out of your head!
The recent movie, The Bob’s Burgers Movie, reminded everyone how much they love the Belcher family, and it looks like they’ll be around for a while. The show has been renewed for four more seasons, meaning Bob’s Burgers will be on the air at least through 2029. Creator Loren Bouchard has also expressed interest in making a second movie, though there are currently no official plans to do so.
Where to Stream The Bob’s Burgers Movie After It Leaves Tubi?
It was recently easier to stream The Bob’s Burgers Movie on Tubi, but it’s no longer available there. Now, the only major streaming service offering the movie is Hulu, and you’ll need a Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV plan to watch it. While you can still rent or buy the movie digitally, it doesn’t look like it will be added to any other streaming platforms in April.
