Tiger Woods is maintaining his innocence.
According to court documents obtained by TopMob News, the golfer pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence and refusing a drug test. This plea comes four days after his arrest following a car accident in Jupiter Island, Florida.
Court documents show Tiger, age 51, has again hired attorney Douglas Duncan to represent him. Duncan previously handled Tiger’s legal case in 2017 following charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving.
TopMob News has reached out to Tiger’s attorney for comment but has not yet heard back.
On March 27th, Tiger was involved in a car accident where his Land Rover flipped after hitting a pickup truck. According to an arrest report from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, officers found two hydrocodone pain pills in his pocket when they arrived at the scene.
Although no one was hurt in the crash, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek stated to the press that Tiger Woods showed indications of impairment. However, investigators don’t believe alcohol played a role in the incident.
According to the sheriff, Mr. Woods failed a breathalyzer test with a very high reading. However, he refused to take a urine test. While he’ll be charged with violating Florida law for refusing the urine test, authorities won’t be able to determine what substance caused his impairment during the crash.
Almost ten years prior, Tiger Woods was arrested in Jupiter, Florida, for reckless driving and driving under the influence. A toxicology report later revealed he had traces of several drugs in his system, including hydrocodone, hydromorphone (Dilaudid), alprazolam (Xanax), zolpidem (Ambien), and THC.

In August 2017, the baseball legend appeared in court and entered a program for first-time DUI offenders. This allowed him to admit guilt to a lesser charge of reckless driving, and the DUI charge was dropped after he completed DUI education, performed community service, and finished a year of probation.
Following his 2017 arrest, Tiger released a statement saying he understood the seriousness of his actions and took full responsibility. He clarified that alcohol wasn’t a factor, explaining the incident was caused by an unexpected and strong reaction to his prescribed medications. He hadn’t realized how the combination of drugs would affect him.

He later confirmed that he was undergoing treatment.
In June 2017, he shared on Twitter (now X) that he was working with doctors to manage his medications, back pain, and a sleep problem. He also expressed gratitude for the incredible support he’d received, particularly from his fans and fellow players.
