A performer at Disneyland who plays a well-loved Star Wars character in the Galaxy’s Edge area recently shared that their role will be ending soon. This is likely to make room for new storylines being added to the land in April. Since it opened in 2019, Galaxy’s Edge has been a hugely popular section of the Disneyland park in Anaheim, California. The area was designed as an official part of the Star Wars universe, complete with rides, characters to meet, and other immersive experiences.
Disney announced big changes coming to Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. When the land first opened, it was set during the Resistance era of Star Wars. But starting in January 2026, the park will update the area to let guests experience the time of the Galactic Civil War and the New Republic, alongside some of the original Resistance details.
Starting April 29th, Galaxy’s Edge will encompass the timeframes of the original Star Wars trilogy, the sequel trilogy, and the stories in between – including the world of The Mandalorian.
This change means some characters and interactions will be removed. For instance, Vi Moradi, a character guests can meet in Galaxy’s Edge, will be sent on a new assignment taking her off-planet starting April 29th – the same day the park’s storyline updates. This information was shared on Instagram by @thatcornerincoruscant, who spoke with the actor portraying Vi.

Disney has announced that Vi Moradi will no longer be appearing at Galaxy’s Edge, and meet-and-greets with her will end on April 29th.

Vi Moradi first became part of the official Star Wars story in the 2017 novel Phasma. After that, she started greeting guests at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland (California) and Hollywood Studios (Florida).
Many Disneyland visitors are upset to learn that Vi, a popular character in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, will be leaving the park. She’s become a beloved part of the experience, often greeting guests and helping them feel truly connected to the Star Wars universe, so her departure for a new assignment is disappointing for a lot of fans.
This change is happening to create space for more Star Wars characters coming to Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in April. Guests will soon be able to meet and interact with popular figures like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Princess Leia within the park.
Many fans are wondering if Boba Fett will also be removed from Galaxy’s Edge. Disney hasn’t officially said he’s leaving, but his absence from the list of characters staying after April 29th suggests he might be gone too.
Notable Star Wars Characters Who Have Left Galaxy’s Edge
Fennec Shand

I was so excited when Fennec Shand showed up in Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland! It was to celebrate The Book of Boba Fett, and since she played such a big role in the show, it felt right seeing her and Boba Fett on Batuu. But after a while, the buzz around the show faded, and unfortunately, they took Fennec away in 2023. It was a little disappointing, but I still love visiting Batuu!
Fennec Shand wasn’t originally planned as a regular character at Galaxy’s Edge. Disney used her appearance as a trial run to see how guests would react to characters from their Disney+ shows making limited-time appearances in the park.
Kylo Ren

I was totally shocked when Disney announced they’re removing Kylo Ren from Galaxy’s Edge in 2026! He’s always been one of the most popular characters from the newer Star Wars movies, and a huge part of the Rise of the Resistance ride. I really thought he’d stick around, especially since they moved Rey to be near that ride too. It just didn’t make sense to me that they’d get rid of him completely!
Although the actor no longer appears in the park’s shows, fans can still meet him in Tomorrowland. He’s available for greetings and photos with guests.
Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker appeared in Galaxy’s Edge in March 2025 as part of the Season of the Force event, which ran until May 11th. This was unusual because Disney had previously stuck to a very specific timeline for the land, but with Disney now revising the entire Batuu timeline, it doesn’t seem like a significant departure.
Once the Season of the Force ended, Luke disappeared from the game. He’ll be back with other new characters on April 29th.
Sabine Wren

To celebrate the Season of the Force, Disneyland added the character Sabine Wren to Galaxy’s Edge for a limited time, similar to how Luke Skywalker appeared in 2025. Sabine was available to see from April 5th to June 2nd, 2024.
Sabine’s appearance happened relatively soon after the first season of Ahsoka launched on Disney+, meaning fans were still very familiar with both her and the show.
