The Player Who Can’t Level Up Has Really Unfortunate Luck in New PS5 Roguelite

It’s unfortunate that we might become the character who can’t advance levels in the approaching roguelike version of the Korean webtoon.

In essence, this tale centers around the character of Kim Kigyu, a skilled martial artist who, unlike others in his world, is unable to increase his power levels. Throughout your adventure, you’ll experience the game from beginning to end while maintaining a constant level one status. May your journey be filled with success!

Fortunately, this is a roguelite so you will have other ways to power up:

Rather than the traditional XP accumulation and grinding, The Game Titled “The Player Who Can’t Level Up” offers Ego Shards (akin to perks) and Blessings (similar to random upgrades), allowing you to construct powerful synergies with each playthrough. Featuring roguelike progression, intricate combat mechanics that adapt on the fly, and the graphical prowess of Unreal Engine 5, players will immerse themselves in a swift-moving, skill-based action adventure – all without any loading screens and complete camera control.

It’s no wonder that with the growing popularity of Korean webtoons and novels, such as the hit series Solo Leveling, we’re witnessing an increasing number of narratives being adapted into video games.

While we find the idea engaging, the absence of a leveling system doesn’t offer much advancement if you’re continuously enhancing your character using Ego Shards and Blessings. It’s clear that some form of progression mechanism is essential.

Although it’s enjoyable, lacking a level-up system isn’t very rewarding when all you do is improve with Ego Shards and Blessings. We need a way to advance or ‘level up’.

As an enthusiast, I must admit that the monotonous settings leave me yearning for something more engaging. Engaging in combat within repetitive hallways might become tiresome over extended play sessions. Here’s hoping that the finished product offers a greater array of diverse landscapes to keep the experience fresh and exciting!

As of now, there’s no confirmed release date, but developer Tripearl Games hints that we might get our hands on the final version by the year 2026. Are you keeping an eye on this upcoming title? Let’s discuss it here without any need for comment leveling up.
