A detailed report surfaced recently, outlining a number of games planned for release on the Switch 2 throughout 2026, including a new Star Fox title and a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time expected to launch later this year. According to someone with inside knowledge, Nintendo executives are very unhappy about the extent of the leak.
Kit Ellis, a former Nintendo PR manager, recently shared his thoughts on the recent Switch 2 leaks. He believes Nintendo is particularly upset about this leak because it revealed details about many upcoming games planned for 2026 and 2027, not just a single title. Ellis suggests this widespread leak could negatively affect Nintendo’s stock price, and expects the company to take stronger measures to prevent future leaks before official announcements.
According to Ellis, Nintendo is extremely upset about these leaks. The company is struggling to control the flow of information, and this situation is much worse than typical pre-event hints. Someone has revealed almost all of Nintendo’s game releases for the rest of this year and even into next year. This is a major issue for Nintendo, as their marketing strategy relies heavily on keeping announcements a surprise.
This feels like new ground for Nintendo,” he said. “They’ve handled leaks in the past, but this situation seems different, and it’s unclear how things will play out. However, dealing with this will definitely be a top priority for the company moving forward.
So far, nothing in this leaked information has been confirmed as true, so it might not be accurate. However, the source of the leak – someone known as Nate the Hate – has a strong history of providing reliable information about Nintendo. Because of this, there’s a good chance the leak’s claims will turn out to be correct.
Fans are expecting Nintendo to announce new games in an official presentation, likely a “Direct” stream, sometime this summer. Nintendo usually holds a major Direct in June, making that timing probable. It’s unclear if recent leaks will affect Nintendo’s plans, though.
