Dolly Parton is changing lives just because she can.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is going to be renamed after Dolly Parton! I’m seriously crying! The hospital president, Matt Schaefer, said her incredible donation is going to make such a difference in so many little ones’ lives. It’s just… everything! Dolly is an angel, and this is the most amazing thing ever. I can’t even handle how wonderful this is!
According to Schaefer, the donor has made an incredibly significant and lasting commitment to Children’s and its work. In an interview with Chief Healthcare Executive published on March 30th, Schaefer explained that this support exceeds all expectations and will be vital to the organization’s future for many years to come.
Schaefer added, “And we’re excited about and humbled by her willingness to do so.”
The hospital administrator didn’t reveal how much the singer Dolly Parton donated, but explained that renaming the hospital to Dolly Parton’s Children’s Hospital will help them better communicate the full range of care they provide. He believes it will also inspire further growth of those services and reinforce their commitment to current and future patients and their families.
Honestly, seeing Dolly get involved is HUGE. It’s like everything we’ve been working towards is finally getting the boost it deserves! We’ve got so many amazing projects going on, but getting them the attention and support they need felt impossible… until now. Dolly’s partnership isn’t just helping us, it’s reaching everyone – the doctors, the patients, the families, even the people who send patients our way. It’s incredible to see this level of awareness and backing spreading across the whole region, and it wouldn’t be happening without her!

Just a few weeks ago, Dolly Parton—who recently spoke about her own health challenges—explained why her work with the hospital is so important to her.
In a recent video posted to Instagram on February 26th, the 80-year-old explained her long-held conviction that all children deserve a loving and healthy start in life. She said this belief is why she partnered with the wonderful team at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
For almost 90 years, their dedicated teams have provided expert and caring medical attention. They treat every child as an individual with a unique life and bright future. They are committed to continuing this compassionate, high-quality care, working together to support children throughout East Tennessee and the surrounding areas.
