Kelly Ripa Shares She Got Microneedling on Her Butt Cheeks

Kelly Ripa is baring a few of her secrets.

Kelly, the host of Live With Kelly and Mark, revealed she decided to test out a popular skincare treatment in a delicate area of her body.

On the March 31st episode of her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, Kelly asked guest Lukas Gage, “Did you get microneedling?” She then shared that she had also tried the procedure, saying, “I did that on my butt.”

The 55-year-old expressed disappointment with the treatment, which involves using tiny needles to minimize things like acne scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the results they’d hoped for.

“I’m gonna tell you something,” she continued, “just as old as before.”

Kelly added with a laugh, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Kelly hasn’t been shy about sharing the results of her microneedling treatment, but it’s just one example of how open she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, are about their personal lives. They’ve made discussing these topics a regular part of their daytime talk show ever since Mark became a co-host in 2023.

It seems the former All My Children actor is actually trying to accomplish something specific by having these conversations with his wife on live television.

You know, I’ve learned over the years that when something feels really difficult to discuss, I often find a way to address it through my work. It’s like, if I’m hesitant to talk about a topic directly, I’ll explore it on my show. It gives me a sense of security – being able to share with an audience feels like having support, a safe space to express myself.

Kelly, who shares three children – Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 23 – with Mark, jokingly said, “Why have a private conversation when I can talk about it in public?”

While enjoying the chance to openly discuss tough topics on air has been a benefit, hosting a morning show together has unfortunately affected the couple’s intimacy.

Mark shared on their show on March 3rd that his work had unfortunately interfered with something else he wanted to do, and had actually prevented it from happening.

Kelly Ripa jokingly complained on her show, Live! With Kelly, back in February 2017, that her husband, Mark Consuelos, would become irritable after they shared intimate moments. She said he’d be short with her and seemed annoyed, which she found strange. Although she later said it was a joke, Mark felt the need to clarify things when the story became popular news. He playfully pointed out that someone who is asleep can’t be mean. Kelly then explained she didn’t mean ‘mean’ literally, but that he seemed completely uninterested—as if he were still asleep.

Kelly Ripa jokes that her children, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin Consuelos, likely block her and Mark on social media. This stems from incidents like Mark announcing he’d be managing the Riverdale Instagram account in 2019, which prompted a playful comment from Kelly. She believes her kids actively try to remove any trace of them from social media to avoid unwanted attention, and they’ll block them “any way they can.” Kelly shared this with TopMob News in April 2023.

Kelly shared some old Halloween photos in 2020, including one of her husband, Mark, and his friend Bruce Bozzi dressed as CHiPs characters. Mark’s outfit was a little snug, and someone commented, playfully suggesting a shadow was causing the bulge. Kelly jokingly questioned if he was actually seeing shadows! Later, on the show Daily Pop, host Justin Sylvester teased that this was the secret to their long marriage. Kelly agreed it wasn’t the only reason, but definitely in the top three!

Kelly jokingly admitted she now thoroughly checks every family photo before posting it online. This habit started after the overwhelming response to their Halloween pictures. When a commenter noticed she seemed particularly careful with photos from a 2020 vacation, Kelly replied with a playful tone, saying she’s extremely meticulous and it can be a bit restrictive, though she isn’t actually upset about it.

Okay, so I was watching Live! – obviously, because they’re perfect – and Kelly just casually dropped the key to their incredible marriage! Thirty years, three kids, and they’re still going strong? She said it’s all about love… and ‘sexy time’! Seriously, that’s it! It’s so simple, yet so brilliant. I’m taking notes, people! This is relationship gold!

Mark and Kelly revealed how they support each other during difficult times while discussing the show Scenes From a Marriage when Mark filled in as a guest co-host.

Kelly described how issues wouldn’t escalate in her and Mark Consuelos’ marriage because Mark immediately addresses any problems. She explained he’d quickly offer solutions – comforting someone who’s upset, addressing concerns, or helping if they’re feeling overwhelmed. Kelly stated that Mark resolves everything with ‘love,’ and playfully added ‘and sexy time!’ Mark jokingly protested it wasn’t everything, but Kelly clarified it was ‘almost everything.’

Okay, so, Mark is such a morning person, and apparently that extends to… well, you know. It honestly makes me cringe! Kelly said it herself – she finds it totally disgusting. She had to lay down the law with him, which I LOVE. She told him it has to be a give and take, that he can’t always get his way. She said it’s like 90% his preference, and now that they work together all the time, things need to change! She’s a night person, period. Thank goodness their show, Live, has basically cured him of wanting anything in the mornings during the week! It’s a miracle, honestly! It means she gets what she wants, and that makes me so happy for her. He’s totally lost his morning mojo because of work, and it’s perfect!

Mark made a playfully suggestive comment after Kelly shared a photo of herself wearing a sparkly, rainbow sweatshirt. Referencing the shirt’s slogan, “More Glitter, Less Twitter,” he jokingly asked, “Is that a G or a C… just for a friend.”

Kelly Clarkson jokingly reminisced about the fun she had conceiving her son Joaquin! When her husband, Mark, posted a sweet 18th birthday message for Joaquin on Instagram, Kelly replied with a playful comment about ‘making’ him. Mark then added that the experience actually took place during a trip to Montreal.

During a September 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen playfully asked his friend Kelly if there were any places they hadn’t been intimate. Kelly Ripa playfully addressed the scandal involving former GMA3 co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, who had a romantic relationship that led to their departure from the show. On Watch What Happens Live in April 2023, she joked that she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, were taking precautions now that he was co-hosting Live with her. She said they had made a ‘vow of chastity’ to avoid any issues, referencing ABC’s apparent disapproval of romantic relationships between on-screen colleagues. Oh my gosh, you guys, I was dying when I heard this! So, Lola was back home for her last semester, and she kept barging in on her parents – seriously, no knocking! And Mark, being Mark, just had to playfully warn her about what she might walk in on. He actually said, ‘Be warned Lola Conseulos. ‘Cause this week’s freaky week, isn’t it?’ on Live! Kelly was cracking up, asking why this week, and Mark just gave this little smile and said, ‘It is now!’ Apparently, he had a talk with Lola after one of her surprise visits. He was so sweet, he started by telling her how much they missed her and that she’s the heart of the family, but then he had to be like, ‘Honey, you have to knock!’ It was the most adorable, hilarious thing ever.
