Bob’s Burgers Actor Eugene Mirman Hospitalized After Fiery Car Crash

Eugene Mirman is recovering from a near-death experience.

H. Jon Benjamin, the voice of Eugene Belcher on the popular animated show Bob’s Burgers, was hospitalized after a car crash in New Hampshire on March 31st. He was rescued from the burning vehicle following the accident.

According to a statement released on April 1st, Eugene Mirman was involved in a serious car accident. He expressed his gratitude to the people who helped him, including those who stopped at the scene, the state police, first responders, and the hospital staff. He is now recovering.

The spokesperson said they are asking for privacy for Eugene and his family while he recovers from his injuries.

I was so saddened to hear about the accident at the Bedford Toll Plaza yesterday. Around 11:55 a.m., a Lucid Gravity, driven by a 51-year-old man, unfortunately collided with the toll booth. Multiple 911 calls came in reporting a fire, and sadly, it sounded like the driver was trapped inside. It’s a truly heartbreaking situation, and my thoughts are with everyone involved.

When police arrived at the crash site, a state trooper who was part of Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security team immediately began rescuing the driver, pulling him through a window as the car caught fire, according to authorities.

Authorities say the voice actor, who was alone in the car, was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. Police are withholding the name of the person who rescued him, citing the sensitive nature of their job.

The reason for the crash is still unknown. No one has been charged with anything yet, but the investigation is ongoing.

Oh my gosh, everyone is raving about this person! Even Colonel Mark B. Hall from the NHSP put out a statement, and he said their actions were totally heroic – and you know what? I completely agree! They’re a real lifesaver, honestly. I can’t stop thinking about how brave they were!

He continued, saying they immediately risked their own safety to help someone in need.

Senator Ayotte expressed her gratitude to the state trooper assigned to her security detail and the people who helped after the crash, praising their courageous efforts to save lives. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on March 31st, she also shared that she and her husband, Joseph Daley, are wishing the injured driver a full and speedy recovery.

In an April 1st post, Ayotte highlighted the dedication of New Hampshire’s first responders and the helpful spirit of its residents, noting it was a great example of both in action.
