Kendra Duggar Says She’s “Fighting” for Her Kids After Her Arrest

Kendra spoke with her husband, Joseph Duggar, by phone before he was sent to Florida to deal with child molestation accusations. During the call, she explained how she was working to see their children again.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this heartbreaking case closely. It appears Kendra, 27, hasn’t been with her four children since her arrest in March on charges of child endangerment and false imprisonment. This all unfolded shortly after her husband, Joseph, was taken into custody following accusations of sexual abuse of a child back in 2020 during a family trip to Florida. It’s a truly difficult situation, and I’m sending strength to everyone involved, especially those children who are, understandably, not currently with their mother.

In a phone call from jail on March 24th, Kendra described the days surrounding her and Joseph’s arrests as “incredibly difficult.” According to audio obtained by People magazine, she went on to say that having her children taken away was especially devastating, as she had been planning to dedicate her life to raising them.

Okay, so I just read this interview, and Joseph – oh my gosh, Joseph! – basically said that Kendra’s kids are everything to her right now. He said they’re her ‘purpose,’ which is just… so sweet and perfect! It totally makes sense, you know? They’re her whole world, and he gets that. I’m obsessed with how much he supports her!

In a phone call on March 22, as reported by People magazine, Joseph, 31, inquired about Kendra’s children. She responded that, to her knowledge, they were doing well.

A newly obtained phone call reveals Kendra reiterated her main focus and what’s most important to her.

I truly believe she’s doing everything for the children, and honestly, they’re what matters most to her right now. When she told my husband – they’ve been together nearly nine years – he was incredibly supportive, saying he completely agreed and that of course she should be prioritizing the kids.

She wanted to make sure I understood that her priority, no matter what, was taking care of a specific person. After that, she said they would figure things out and deal with whatever came next, one step at a time.

According to jail records obtained by TopMob News, Kendra and Joseph are each facing four charges of endangering a child and four charges of unlawful imprisonment.

Joseph pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual abuse involving a minor during a court hearing on March 31st. The charges relate to alleged inappropriate sexual contact.

TopMob News has previously reached out to the Duggar family for comment but has not heard back.

According to a phone call obtained by TMZ on March 31st, Kendra Duggar told Joseph that despite any disappointment the family may feel, everyone still loves him.

Joseph’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar broke their silence in a statement on March 30.

Oh, my heart just breaks for Jim Bob and Michelle! I mean, can you imagine how devastated they must be? A spokesperson told Us Weekly that they’re just completely heartbroken by everything. Honestly, all they want to do right now is be there for their family, especially Kendra and those sweet babies. They’re really focusing on loving and supporting her through this, and it just makes me admire them even more!

The couple’s spokesperson said they are thinking of the victim and asked for privacy during this difficult time. They are grateful for the support and prayers they’ve received.

On March 19th, we were surprised to hear about the arrest of Jill’s brother, Joseph Duggar. We found out through a friend who sent us a text about news reports claiming Joseph confessed to sexually abusing a young girl in 2020. We are deeply shocked and saddened by this news.

The couple, married this year, expressed their outrage at what Joseph, his brother, has done, calling his actions shocking and unacceptable.

Jason and Maddie shared a statement on Instagram on March 26th, saying they were deeply shocked, confused, and saddened by recent events. While they were personally affected by the news regarding their brother, they emphasized their greater concern for the child whose life has been devastated by the actions of someone who should have protected them. They expressed feeling heartbroken over this tragic situation.

People requested prayers for the victim, whom they described as brave, and for Joseph’s family. They noted the heartbreaking impact on his children, who are now without the father and spiritual guide they deserved.

Josh is deeply aware of the harm that false accusations can cause, his lawyer explained to the Daily Mail on March 20th. He knows firsthand how such accusations can ruin someone’s life and how a person can be unfairly targeted for media attention, leading to distorted and exaggerated stories.

I just… I can’t believe it. Even now, even after everything, Josh – the one who’s locked up for those awful things, doing 12 years – apparently still thinks about his brother, Joseph. His lawyer said he’s not talking to Joseph much, which, honestly, I don’t get, but that he “hopes and prays” for him during all this. It’s… it’s just so strange. He’s worried about Joseph when he should be… ugh. It’s just a lot to take in.

Joy-Anna shared on Instagram on March 26th that she was devastated by the recent news about her brother. She expressed her sympathy for the victim and said she’s been deeply upset and taking time to cope with the situation.

She added, “I will be taking some much-needed time with my family.”

On the March 25th episode of The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast, Jeremy shared that they had a challenging week as they worked through and prayed about something.

Jinger, who relocated to Los Angeles with Jeremy in 2019, shared that she was deeply heartbroken this week. She described the pain and sadness as overwhelming, not only for herself but also because of the impact it’s had on others, calling it incredibly difficult and painful in many ways.

“It’s incredibly difficult,” she said. “In times like these, all you can do is pray for strength and support, because you can’t possibly prepare for news like this.”

As a voice for families, I was truly devastated to hear this news. It’s heartbreaking and frankly, infuriating. My immediate thoughts are with the young victim – a child who deserved nothing but safety, protection, and the unwavering trust of those around her. It’s a tragedy that impacts us all, and my heart goes out to everyone affected.

I’ve always believed in honesty, taking responsibility for your actions, and keeping children safe, even if it meant disagreeing with my own family. I believe you shouldn’t automatically trust or give anyone access just because they’re family, particularly when children’s safety is involved.
