Sharon Stone isn’t afraid to kiss and tell.
The actress was incredibly confident about kissing Robert De Niro in the movie Casino, and she confidently called him the best kisser she’d ever experienced.
Sharon described a surprisingly passionate kiss, telling SiriusXM’s Radio Andy that it completely caught her off guard. She added with a groan, “Yes, it really did!”
The 68-year-old actor remembers one especially intimate scene from the 1995 crime thriller more vividly than any other.
Sharon, who played Ginger McKenna in the movie, described a scene where her character needed to use the restroom. Because Ginger is a hustler, she convinced the man she was with to give her money for it. She remembers looking at him after he offered fifty dollars, thinking, ‘Seriously? I need more than that to go to the bathroom.’
She explained that he handed her about $100, and then she kissed him. She added that he really impressed her.
According to Sharon, the kiss even left director Martin Scorsese blushing.
Marty stopped filming and asked if we wanted to do another take, saying he thought they had a good one already. We both agreed that one more take wouldn’t hurt.

Sharon has frequently praised her working relationship with 82-year-old Robert, telling TopMob News in 2024 that collaborating on the film Casino was a profoundly impactful experience.
The actor, known for Basic Instinct, shared that they greatly enjoyed working with their colleagues on the film. They specifically mentioned learning more from Robert De Niro than they did throughout the rest of their career.
She expressed her continued admiration for working with Martin Scorsese and shared how much she values her relationships with him and other actors. She particularly praised Jimmy Woods and Joe Pesci, noting Pesci’s support in helping her land the role. She emphasized how meaningful these collaborations are to her and expressed her eagerness to work with any of them again in the future.

Sharon reminisced about a passionate kiss she shared with Robert in 2020, describing it as the best kiss she’d ever had.
I always really looked up to him as an actor, and he inspired my entire career,” she shared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I had a tremendous amount of respect for him.
She explained that she felt incredibly invested in the situation, but she was so deeply in love with him that, professionally speaking, she would have tolerated almost anything. She joked that he could have even physically harmed her, and she would have been okay with it, describing the experience as ‘pretty fabulous.’
Sharon said she couldn’t think of anything that measured up. She described everything else as just ‘okay’ or unremarkable.
Sharon isn’t the only celebrity to talk openly about kissing in movies and TV. Here are some other stars who’ve shared their experiences with onscreen kisses…

Despite often complaining about her on-screen romantic partners, Kate Hudson seems to have a knack for quickly turning guys off. Dane Cook recently told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that during the filming of their 2008 movie, My Best Friend’s Girl, he believes Kate intentionally ate a lot of onions before their love scenes, just to make it difficult for him!

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson’s steamy scene in Water for Elephants was a bit messy, according to Pattinson. He shared during a 2011 MTV interview that he was sick with a bad cold while filming. He ended up wiping his runny nose on Witherspoon’s wig during a reshoot of the scene!
Witherspoon admitted the situation was a little messy. “He was definitely running a lot of mucus,” she said, adding, “It wasn’t a pretty sight.”

Let me tell you, even celebrities have embarrassing moments! I recently heard Selena Gomez talk about her very first on-screen kiss – it was with Dylan Sprouse on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Apparently, she was so eager, she closed her eyes a little too soon and totally missed half of his lip! She said it was the most awkward kiss ever, but honestly, she was only twelve, so it’s a funny story now. It just goes to show, everyone has those cringeworthy memories, even when you’re on TV!
She shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show that the most awkward part of the experience was having a big crush on Cole Sprouse, only to end up kissing his brother during a guest appearance on his show.

When Emma Watson and Rupert Grint’s friendship began to develop into something more during the seventh Harry Potter film, the moment wasn’t quite as magical as some might have hoped. The then-19-year-old Emma admitted to MTV News that she felt very anxious about it, especially after all the anticipation.
She remembered being incredibly nervous before filming the scene. In a 2009 chat, she described overthinking everything – whether to use tongue, cover her teeth, or even who should go first. She ended up quickly kissing Rupert, wanting to get it over with. After the first attempt, he was surprised by the intensity, and she immediately apologized.

It was always going to be difficult for Liam Hemsworth to develop a connection with his Hunger Games co-star, Jennifer Lawrence.
He described the on-screen chemistry between Katniss and Gale as seemingly perfect. However, he shared a funny story about his close friend, Katniss, playfully sabotaging any potential kissing scenes. She would intentionally eat something with a strong odor, like garlic or tuna, right beforehand and then proudly announce it to him, knowing it would make a kiss unpleasant. He jokingly said he’d be thrilled to ‘taste’ it, highlighting her amusing way of avoiding romance on camera.

Josh Hutcherson admits that kissing Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games wasn’t always pleasant – he says there was a lot of saliva! But he says that was nothing compared to a different on-screen kiss he did in the 2005 film Little Manhattan.
He recalled having his first kiss at age 11, describing it as a very awkward experience. He told Seventeen magazine in 2013 that it happened with around 50 people watching, making it feel completely unnatural and not at all intimate.

Ashley Tisdale revealed to Elle that she had to encourage her friend Zac Efron to focus while they filmed an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She already felt strange about having to act romantically with someone she considers “like a brother,” and was completely taken aback when he tried to kiss her.
She explained that her High School Musical co-star was accustomed to a different style of acting from his work with Warner Bros. and The CW. She recalled being shocked by his approach and immediately reacting with, ‘Get away from me!’ She quickly shut her mouth, realizing, ‘This is Disney Channel! We don’t do kissing scenes like that here!’

Zac Efron had a funny experience while filming the 2020 movie Summerland. He was about to film a kissing scene with Kay Panabaker when something unexpected happened. As he leaned in for the kiss, he realized she wasn’t responding! He got closer and closer, anticipating contact, but nothing happened. Finally, she broke the tension by asking if he’d eaten salmon for lunch, completely derailing the moment.
Harsh, but he learned a valuable lesson: “I carry a toothbrush everywhere I go now.”

One of the most nerve-wracking moments for Tobey Maguire while filming Spider-Man was filming the famous kiss with his then-girlfriend, Kirsten Dunst.
He told Parade magazine in 2007 that he was suspended upside down in the rain late at night, with water running up his nose. He explained that when Kirsten removed the wet mask, it cut off his air supply.

It’s not something you usually hear, but Kirsten Dunst has said that kissing Brad Pitt wasn’t actually that great. It’s understandable, though – she was only eleven years old while filming Interview With the Vampire in 1994, and he was already in his thirties.
She explained to ET that she really disliked the kissing scene with Brad Pitt, saying he felt more like a brother to her on set. She found it awkward and unpleasant to have to kiss him, especially given their age difference.
She firmly believes what she said back in 2019: “It was disgusting, and I still feel that way! It would have been much more disturbing if an eleven-year-old had said they enjoyed it. You’d immediately think something was off with that child.”

Things were incredibly good, and then really difficult, for Penn Badgley and Blake Lively during their time together on Gossip Girl. Penn Badgley once told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he thought Blake Lively was the best he’d ever kissed, explaining they were actually dating at the time.
As for his worst, he quipped, “Maybe Blake after we broke up.”

Colin Farrell admitted that kissing Kate Beckinsale during filming of the 2012 movie Total Recall was a bit awkward. He explained to Conan O’Brien that it was ‘moderately uncomfortable’ because Beckinsale was married to the film’s director, Len Wiseman, at the time.
He described the situation as slightly uncomfortable, explaining that the director’s husband remained in the room despite not being needed. He wondered if he should have requested feedback from him anyway.

Is there anything worse than a surveilling husband? Millie Brown Brown would hazard so.
When she first kissed Finn Wolfhard on the set of Stranger Things, her entire family was watching! She shared that her dad and the rest of her family witnessed the whole thing, making it a really awkward moment. She jokingly estimated it was probably her first kiss out of eleven attempts.

Although it might seem glamorous to kiss Ryan Reynolds, his Deadpool co-star Morena Baccarin says it wasn’t ideal. She jokingly told People Now that kissing him while he’s wearing the Deadpool mask felt like kissing a large latex condom, and that it smelled like rubber the whole time.

I was so excited to see James Franco play the groom opposite Sienna Miller in ‘Camille,’ but apparently, filming wasn’t as glamorous as it looked! James shared that they only kissed once, and it wasn’t even a passionate scene. He said Sienna actually had a toothache during the kiss – she had to call her dentist right away! It’s funny to think about all the romantic comedies where things don’t go as planned, and this is definitely one of those stories.

In 2013, after filming the romantic movie The Spectacular Now with Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller jokingly revealed some intimate details about the experience during a screening of the film.
He remembered that before their first kiss, Shailene Woodley took some Chinese dirt supplements and ate them. He described it as like eating a pouch of dirt, and said they smelled terrible. Quite a romantic preparation, he joked!
