Kelsey Swanson is already making waves in the Ocean State.
The star of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island sparked a lot of conversation among her fellow cast members with her unique approach to relationships when the show first aired.
I come from a very well-known family in Rhode Island through my boyfriend, and he’s financially supported me, allowing me not to work,” she shared. “He’s a great guy, but he’s away for about five months out of the year, leaving me completely alone in the house.”
Kelsey’s boyfriend lives in Florida for half the year, and when he’s away, she has complete access to his large, expensive mansion in New England.
The former Miss Rhode Island explained that she’s enjoyed a very comfortable life for the past decade. Her 16,000-square-foot home has everything she could want, including four kitchens and 79 televisions, but the most impressive part is the massive closet. The house is so large, the bedroom is actually in a different zip code!
But long-distance living isn’t the only unique aspect of the couple’s romantic arrangement.
Kelsey admitted her relationship is unusual. Her partner dates several people, and for the first six months of the year, he’s in Miami with someone else. Now that she’s turning 30, Kelsey wants a more committed, one-on-one relationship, but she realizes her partner isn’t willing to change his lifestyle.
“He is who he is,” she lamented, “and either I accept it, or I have to leave.”

It’s no surprise that Kelsey’s fellow cast members on RHORI talked about her personal life at a picnic she missed. The conversation led Rosie DiMare to wonder if Kelsey is in a polygamous relationship.
“I assumed it was Kelsey,” Rosie said. “Doesn’t her boyfriend have two girlfriends – one here and one in Florida?”
After Alicia Carmody questioned how Kelsey divides her time off, Rosie jumped to a conclusion, asking, “Are you saying she’s seeing someone else?”
All the chatter eventually got back to Kelsey, who took issue with Rosie’s line of questioning.
I can’t get people to stop gossiping about my relationship,” Kelsey explained. “Rosie, are you actually trying to understand what’s going on, or are you just repeating rumors you’ve heard? Because if you’re just listening to gossip, it’s going to create a lot of drama for you.”
Let me tell you, things are heating up on the show! We get a sneak peek of what’s coming, and Kelsey finally sets the record straight. She basically says she’s incredibly lucky to have two amazing people in her life, and Rosie? Well, Rosie is not impressed! She immediately calls Kelsey out, pointing out that admitting that sounds a whole lot like having two boyfriends, and she wants answers. It’s a really raw, honest moment, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
If you’re curious about what’s happening in my love life, be sure to tune in to The Real Housewives of Rhode Island! It airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
