Uncharted Fans Think a Social Post Is Evidence of New PS5 Entry

Fans of the Uncharted series have discovered an old Instagram post from a Naughty Dog developer and are wondering if it hints at a new game being developed.

In February, Shaun Escayg, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, shared a post online about doing some “research.” The post included a picture of a cannon on what looks like a fort or castle, facing the ocean.

Although the image doesn’t directly reference the Uncharted series, it strongly evokes the atmosphere and environments found in those games. This has led fans to speculate it’s a subtle clue about a future installment, and they’ve even pinpointed the location as Fort George in Trinidad & Tobago.

Is that Instagram post a hint about a new Uncharted game? Probably not at all.

Although Naughty Dog is rumored to be working on a second, unannounced game, it won’t likely be released until after ‘Intergalactic,’ which isn’t expected until 2027. Because this other game hasn’t been officially revealed, it seems unlikely a developer would hint at it on social media.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End provided a satisfying conclusion to the series, but hinted at potential future stories through Nate and Elena’s daughter, Cassie. Fans have also long hoped for a game starring Sully. If Naughty Dog decides to revisit the Uncharted world, they have several interesting options for a new installment.
