The game MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is really leaning into its distinctive black-and-white, film noir style, complete with moody music. The French electroswing band Caravan Palace perfectly captures the game’s playful but tough atmosphere – you can get a feel for it in the video below.
The music video is set in El Paradiso, a lively casino where the fun hides a potentially steep cost for some. Though Jack Pepper, the main character of the game, only appears briefly, the video offers intriguing glimpses into the kinds of difficult cases this seasoned detective handles – involving corrupt officials, gangsters, and more.
We really hope the rest of the game’s music is as memorable as this track. It would be a great fit for the game’s exciting action and the variety of weapons Pepper uses while investigating clues and delivering witty lines.
We’ll be checking out this new game as soon as it’s available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on April 16th. It costs $29.99 and offers between 12 and 20 hours of playtime, depending on how you play. Plus, they’re already planning a story expansion to add even more content after launch.
