Not all of Jen Shah‘s relationships with her former costars became icy.
Recently released from prison after serving three years of a six-year sentence for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, the former star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has spoken publicly for the first time about her current relationship with the show’s cast.
Jen mentioned that Meredith and Seth Marks supported her husband, Sharrieff Shah (also known as Coach), while she was traveling.
You know, Meredith has been such a rock throughout everything. As I was stepping away, she and Seth were amazing – they consistently checked in with our coach, just sending love and support. It meant the world to me to know they were thinking of us and keeping that connection strong.
She confirmed they had spoken. “I called her while I was away and again when I returned home,” she said.
Although it appears she hasn’t spoken directly to any of her other former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” castmates, the 52-year-old did say she contacted Mary Cosby after the passing of her son, Robert Cosby Jr., who died in February at the age of 23.
Jen explained she sent a card to express her condolences, saying she wanted to be respectful. She wrote to let the recipient know how sorry she was to hear about the loss of Robert Jr., and assured her that her family was keeping her in their thoughts and prayers.
She told Mary she considered any past disagreements they’d had on the show to be in the past and wanted her to know she still cared, particularly because Mary was going through a tough time.

Jen explained she wanted to reach out and tell her friend she still cares, even though they haven’t spoken in a few years while she’s been away, and especially given what her friend is currently dealing with.
I reached out privately to avoid taking attention away from Mary and her family. I wanted the focus to remain on supporting her and remembering her son.

Jen hasn’t spoken to Lisa Barlow in a while, but she’s still hopeful they can reconnect as friends someday.
It’s amazing how going through a difficult time can really change your outlook,” she said thoughtfully. “I honestly don’t even dwell on what happened between us, or any disagreements we had. I feel like I could easily reconnect with Lisa Barlow and have a conversation with her.
Jen is optimistic that she can rebuild her friendships with her female castmates, including Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, and Angie Katsanevas. When asked if she thought they’d be open to hearing from her, she expressed hope that they would be.
Even though Jen Shah is no longer part of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, she definitely left a lasting impression on the show. Read on to find out where she stands among all the Real Housewives throughout the franchise…

Bravo’s show about Washington D.C. featured four women—Mary Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Cat Ommanney, and Stacie Scott Turner—who didn’t exactly make a lasting impression. And then there was one woman who was so eager for attention that she actually crashed a party at the White House. We’ll be talking about her later.

Who?

Vaguely familiar, but…

Once upon a time, DeShawn starred on the same TV show as NeNe Leakes. Surprising, we know.

This one-season Housewife brought nothing to the Orange County table.

The newest cast member on The Real Housewives of Utah had a dramatic and short-lived run on the show. In January 2022, Jennie was let go after old, offensive posts on her Facebook account – considered racially insensitive – came to light. She later issued an apology, but the show had already decided to remove her from the cast.

Her defining trait was “cougar.”

Throughout season 16, the Orange County doctor generally stayed out of the drama, and her short-lived marital issues with her husband, Ryne, weren’t very exciting. But viewers will always remember Dr. Jen getting noticeably drunk on wine at the Dubrows’ famously uncomfortable—but surprisingly fun—dinner party.

The nurse anesthetist’s first season was a disaster, best remembered by the embarrassing incident now known as ‘Esophagus-gate.’

Katie frequently talked about her charitable efforts, but didn’t offer much else when filming. She made brief appearances and didn’t really engage with the other cast members as a friend. And leaving the cast’s group trip early? That’s a major breach of etiquette for a reality show personality.

Charrisse is mostly remembered for her highly publicized marital issues during her two seasons on the show, and her famously lavish champagne room.

A one-and-done Housewife, Shamari was at least fun?

Okay, I’ll admit, at first I was SO excited to see a little more diversity on The Real Housewives of Orange County with Peggy. But honestly? She quickly became… a lot. The things she’d get upset about were just… weird. Like, she’d start fights over words people used – it was baffling! And that Iceland trip? Forget about it. She just holed up in her room all day! It was clear she couldn’t handle the drama, and honestly, it was a little disappointing. I really thought she’d be a good addition, but she just wasn’t built for this Housewives life, you know?

Nneka’s first season on the show focused on a surprising and dramatic conflict: she accused Wendy Osefo’s mother of practicing witchcraft. It was a shame, as viewers hoped to see Nneka and Wendy connect over their Nigerian heritage instead of being caught in this unresolved dispute.

Noella brought a lot of energy to season 16, but it often felt chaotic. Although viewers sympathized with her personal difficulties – her husband, James, unexpectedly filed for divorce just before filming began – it was her ongoing conflict with Heather Dubrow that kept her from being seen as the least interesting cast member. Perhaps with more time on the show, viewers will connect with Noella.

It’s rare to see a Real Housewife’s reputation decline so quickly. One season she was keeping the peace, and the next she was making constant complaints – even over a thrown cake – and falsely accusing others of anti-Semitism, effectively ending her time on the show.

It seemed like Amber and her husband, Jim, were constantly making frantic choices. And Jim appeared to be much more caught up in the problems than she was, which didn’t look good for him.

From what we recall, Karent was a dentist, and her colleagues didn’t seem to get along with her. Moving on!

This was a real person with a show on Bravo. We promise.

Jules was only on RHONY for one season, so it’s hard to place her higher on a ranking, but she definitely brought the drama during her time on the show.

It’s rare for a new cast member to be disliked so quickly, but Amanda Francis, who joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in season 15, immediately rubbed many Bravo viewers the wrong way.
Amanda, a financial advisor who calls herself the “Money Queen,” didn’t make a good impression on either her fellow cast members or viewers. People were turned off by her focus on possessions and the surprisingly bad financial advice she offered.
What really showed she wasn’t suited for the show was her unwillingness to argue or clash with the other cast members. Being a Housewife is a tough role, and it’s not for everyone.

So unnecessary they couldn’t even get individual taglines.

Similar to her colleague Sara Al Madani, Nina showed how a successful Arab woman can balance a modern lifestyle with her cultural heritage. She mostly stayed out of the drama during the first season, and at times, her quieter personality wasn’t as noticeable as those of her more outgoing co-stars.

Taleen joined the second season of RHODubai and made a positive impression, but it’s hard to fully evaluate her after only seeing her in one season of the show.

Angel really struggled during her time on the show, to put it mildly. As the wife of former NFL player Bobby Massie, she had a difficult season 10, constantly falling short as the other, more experienced cast members seemed to enjoy watching her try – and fail – to connect with the group.
Even though things didn’t go perfectly, it’s quite a story that her glamping trip in Colorado resulted in the group getting lost and having to eat gas station food.
Definitely a first for the Housewives.

As a lifestyle observer, I always had a feeling that Whitney Houston’s daughter, Rayvon, didn’t quite find her footing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She joined for a couple of seasons, but honestly, she’s mostly remembered for being pregnant! Though, I have to give her credit for that unforgettable read of Marlo Hampton while she was in Tokyo – talk about a moment! It was definitely a highlight.

Generally, we like to see how a new Housewife does over at least one full season before ranking them highly. However, Katie made a huge impact right away on season 18 of RHOC, immediately challenging longtime cast member Heather Dubrow. It’s not easy to question someone as established as Heather!

To be frank, Stephanie wasn’t a favorite of ours. Although she had the potential to be a compelling Housewife due to her wealth, her constant use of her private jet to control and influence the other cast members in season seven left a bad impression.
Maybe Steph can redeem herself if she returns for season eight.

Sara was known for being positive and optimistic, which made her a pleasant person to be around, though things were usually quite calm with her—except for the time she gave co-star Caroline Brooks some parenting advice that wasn’t appreciated. More importantly, she challenged common ideas about modern Muslim women in the Middle East, and that’s something to celebrate.

The new cast members on season 13 of RHONJ quickly fell into the pattern of typical New Jersey Housewives, getting caught up in a season-long argument over something insignificant – a conflict even Andy Cohen called pointless. Sadly, their second season didn’t offer much more depth or substance.
