While live service games have become popular, they often don’t last forever. Maintaining the servers and regularly updating the game is expensive, and eventually, many of these games are shut down. This is now happening with the Disney RPG Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, which recently announced it will be ending service.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode launched on iOS and Android in 2018, bringing together a wide range of Disney and Pixar characters in a role-playing battle game. Over its eight years, the game expanded to include more than 250 playable characters. However, the developer, PerBlue, recently announced that Disney Heroes: Battle Mode will officially end on May 31st, 2026. Although players will have nearly two more years to enjoy the game, some changes will be implemented as it prepares to shut down.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode Announces Server Shutdown

Launched in 2018, Disney Heroes: Battle Mode has built a dedicated following. It’s been downloaded over 10 million times on Google Play, where it has a 4.4-star rating, and also scores a 4.6 on the Apple App Store. While some players think the game has become too focused on in-app purchases recently, it remains popular with Disney fans who enjoy role-playing games. Sadly, the game will soon be ending its run.
Today, Battle Mode got a new update with fresh characters and features. However, PerBlue also announced that the game will be closing down later this year. After eight years, the Disney RPG’s servers will be turned off completely on May 31st, making the game unplayable. Before that happens, PerBlue will be implementing some changes to the game.
Starting April 30th, we’ll be turning off the ability to make purchases within the game, and it will no longer be available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If you’re interested in playing or revisiting the game, please download it before April 30th. Those who already have the game will still be able to play it, but new downloads won’t be possible after that date.

Starting June 1st, Disney Heroes: Battle Mode will no longer be playable. The game’s official Discord server will also be shut down on that date. If you’ve enjoyed playing with friends, make sure to connect with them on other social media or platforms before the Discord server is gone.
It’s always disappointing when a game is discontinued, but Disney fans still have options. Disney Dreamlight Valley is still being updated, and several other Disney games on mobile are continuing for the time being. However, May 31st will be the last day to play the battle-focused RPG for those who enjoyed it.
