The team behind “Silent Hill: Townfall,” previously known as No Code, has decided to change their company name. According to an announcement made on their official website, they will now be recognized as Screen Burn Interactive.
In the announcement, the studio explained that their original name “No Code” was more fitting when they first started in 2015 since their initial team didn’t include any coders at that time. However, the studio has expanded significantly over the years, and now many of its members are programmers.
In current times, the phrase “No Code” is often used to refer to application development and educational resources that require minimal coding skills. To put it simply, the studio expressed that their email inbox is disorganized by saying, “our inbox is a jumble.
The studio chose Screen Burn as its new name because it was inspired by the ambiance and feelings that its games usually evoke. They described themselves as being akin to old-school televisions or 3.5-inch disk drives, emphasizing their nostalgic and somewhat imperfect qualities.
Our games leave lasting impressions, staying with players even after the ending. They are games that endure, much like a classic arcade game whose user interface remains etched on the screen for all time.
Regarding the potential impact on the progress of “Silent Hill: Townfall,” the developers have hinted that this project is among those they are currently focusing on. Yet, they haven’t disclosed any fresh information about the forthcoming horror game at this time.
Previously in December 2024, Motoi Okamoto, the producer of the Silent Hill series, mentioned that Konami would disclose further information about Silent Hill: Townfall at some point during this current year.
In a 2024 interview, Okamoto shared that we had triumphantly launched Silent Hill 2, receiving acclaim from the fanbase. Currently, we’re focusing on the upcoming games, Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall, as previously announced. Our team is putting in tremendous effort to ensure these titles live up to fan expectations. We aim to bring exciting updates soon.
It seems that there’s been little official word about “Silent Hill: Townfall” from both Konami and Screen Burn Interactive. However, we do have information that the game is being crafted using Unreal Engine 5. There were whispers as early as 2022 suggesting that “Townfall” could be part of an anthology series, with other games in this series potentially developed by various independent studios.
For now, the upcoming title “Silent Hill f” has been announced as the next major installment in the renowned horror series. Its release is scheduled for September 25 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
