Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s oldest daughter has a simple take on the age difference between her parents.
The couple’s daughter, 12-year-old Carmen, playfully teased her parents about their 26-year age gap in a funny video made to celebrate the 68th birthday of the former 30 Rock star.
In an Instagram video posted on April 3rd, Alec Baldwin celebrated his 68th birthday while on vacation with his children. He jokingly remarked on reaching the milestone, saying, ‘I’m 68 years old—what a way to turn 68!’ He added that his favorite birthday had been his 40th, noting it was ‘a while ago.’
Emphasizing her dad’s point, Carmen jokingly added, “That was a really long time ago.”
Alec, clearly surprised by Carmen’s remark, and a father to Rafael, 10, Leo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo and Maria, 5, and Ilaria, 2, with Hilaria, asked, “When did that happen, Carmen?”
Taking the time to do some mental math, she quipped, “Um, so Mommy was 14?”
Alec, who also has a 30-year-old daughter named Ireland with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, seemed to take the joke well in the video. He then responded with a joke of his own in the post’s caption.

“God help me,” he wrote, “It’s elder abuse.”
A funny incident occurred during Hilaria and Alec Baldwin’s family vacation, following a mishap involving one of their children. Hilaria shared that their son, Leo, sustained a significant injury while they were on vacation.
Hilaria shared on Instagram how happy she was that her family joined her after her work trip. She posted a series of photos and videos showing her children having fun at the beach and going for walks, calling it a ‘special time’ together.
Hilaria shared some photos of her 9-year-old son in the hospital, and another picture showing him with a bandage on his eye.

Hilaria shared that her son, Leo, needed stitches after a forehead injury. She expressed gratitude for the excellent care they received at the hospital, noting the kindness of the doctors and staff. She included photos of Leo getting treated.
Despite their son’s injury, Hilaria shared that she was enjoying some much-needed rest and relaxation with her children.
Besides all that, we’ve been enjoying the beach, spending time together, and even practicing walking like crabs! It’s been wonderful making these memories, and I truly missed them all so much it ached.

Alec Baldwin shared with the New York Times that he met Hilaria Thomas at a New York restaurant called Pure Food and Wine in February 2011. He gave her his phone number, and after a bit of back-and-forth, they finally made plans to have dinner together.
That August they enjoyed their first US Open together, one of Alec’s favorite events.

Alec first noticed Hilaria at a charity event in October 2011 – the Elton John AIDS Foundation benefit – and they began living together the very next month.

Alec Baldwin and Hilaria were together at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. He explained that after his divorce, he did a lot of thinking about what he wanted in a relationship and in life. He realized he’d overthought things and wasn’t prepared to start a new relationship until he met Hilaria.

In April 2012, Alec’s rep confirmed to TopMob News that he and Hilaria were engaged.

Oh my gosh, I’m obsessed with Hilaria and Ireland Baldwin’s friendship! They’re always tweeting at each other, it’s so sweet. I remember when Ireland playfully tweeted she was going to be a flower girl at Hilaria’s wedding – so funny! But then it turned out she was actually a bridesmaid! It was adorable seeing their bond shine through, honestly. I’ve saved screenshots of all their interactions, naturally.

The couple got married on June 30, 2012, surrounded by loved ones at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in Manhattan. The bride looked beautiful in a silk magnolia trumpet gown by Amsale, and the groom wore a Tom Ford tuxedo.

The couple now has seven children: Carmen Gabriela (born August 23, 2013), Rafael Thomas (June 17, 2015), Leonardo Ángel Charles (September 12, 2016), Romeo Alejandro David (May 17, 2018), Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas (September 8, 2020), María Lucía Victoria (born February 25, 2021, via surrogate), and Ilaria Catalina Irena (September 22, 2022).
The whole family will be starring on TLC’s The Baldwins, premiering Feb. 23, 2025.
