Xbox Game Pass continues to be a top choice for gamers, offering a wide variety of games, from big-name titles to smaller independent ones. However, some of the most well-known massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) haven’t been added yet. For years, fans have hoped to see Blizzard’s World of Warcraft on the service, especially since Microsoft now owns Blizzard. Now, another popular fantasy MMORPG is joining Game Pass, and players are optimistic that this will lead to more big MMORPGs becoming available.
The team at Elder Scrolls Online recently announced several significant updates for the game. After twelve years, ZeniMax is making major changes to its online world of Tamriel. These changes include a new, free seasonal content system, as well as experimental content and solo dungeons. In addition, Elder Scrolls Online will be available on PC Game Pass starting in June, bringing the game to a wider audience after being available on consoles and cloud services for years.
Xbox Game Pass Adds Elder Scrolls to Its PC & Play Anywhere Lineup

Elder Scrolls Online is working to attract new players. Right now, the Gold Road Edition is available as a free download for PlayStation Plus Essential members until April 6th, letting PlayStation players get the game at no cost. Because future seasonal updates will be free, getting the base game now allows Elder Scrolls fans to jump into the world of Tamriel and keep up with all the new content. Soon, Elder Scrolls Online will also be accessible to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
As a big fan of Elder Scrolls Online, I’m so excited about this news! For a while now, it’s been available on Xbox Game Pass, but only for console and cloud players. That meant if you were like me and preferred playing on PC with your Game Pass, you couldn’t really experience everything ESO has to offer. But thankfully, that’s changing on June 2nd! It’s finally coming to PC Game Pass, and even better, they’re adding Xbox Play Anywhere support. This means if you subscribe, you can play on both your PC and Xbox without paying extra, and usually that includes cross-progression so your progress carries over – which is awesome!

Players of The Elder Scrolls Online have been asking for crossplay – the ability to play with others on different platforms – and cross-progression – the ability to carry their game progress between platforms – for a long time. Currently, the game on consoles and PC are treated as separate entities. The developers at ZeniMax are working on making full crossplay and cross-progression possible, but it’s a complex undertaking. In the meantime, making the game available through Xbox Play Anywhere will allow players who access it through Game Pass to carry their progress between their PC and Xbox versions. While this isn’t complete crossplay, it’s a positive move for the game.
As a gamer, I’m really hyped to see ESO coming to Game Pass! It’s awesome on its own, but it’s got me thinking – could this open the door for other big MMORPGs to join the service? A lot of us are crossing our fingers that Blizzard will see this and finally bring World of Warcraft to Game Pass. It’s still just a wish for now, but if ESO‘s arrival on PC Game Pass brings in a ton of new players, other developers might start paying attention. Plus, with Microsoft owning both ZeniMax (who makes ESO) and Blizzard, it’s not like the idea of WoW on Game Pass is totally crazy!
