Sony is clearly taking software quality on the PS Store much more seriously now.
The company removed thousands of low-quality, quickly-made games this year, and just removed hundreds more today.
The news initially appeared on PSNProfiles, and we’ve confirmed it: the game libraries for Welding Byte, GoGame Console Publisher, and VRCForge have all been removed.
Games recently taken down include Jesus Simulator, Watermelon Fruits Puzzle, and Card Shop Game Store: TCG Simulator.
Although not as bad as completely unoriginal games like The Jumping Hamburger, many of these titles still seem like cheap copies meant to trick people into buying them.
Welding Byte’s game, I Am Busy Digging a Hole, is deliberately named to mislead players into believing it’s actually a game called A Game About Digging a Hole.
As a fan, it feels like Sony is always playing whack-a-mole! They might take down one game, like that ‘Jesus Simulator’ everyone was talking about, but then another one, like ‘Jesus: The Journey,’ pops up right away. It’s a constant struggle for them, it seems.
It’s great that they’re still improving the PlayStation Store, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
