Streaming has changed how we watch TV. It doesn’t feel that long ago that shows aired one episode a week, but now many series are released all at once, letting viewers watch multiple episodes back-to-back. Both weekly releases and complete-season drops have their advantages – some shows are best enjoyed by watching them all at once.
While it can be tempting to binge-watch shows, waiting for new episodes each week actually lets you savor the story and build anticipation. Plus, it gives people who might not have found a show otherwise a chance to jump in. Many streaming services are now releasing shows weekly again, so if you’re looking for something new to watch, it’s worth checking out what each platform has available.
Netflix
Bridgerton
The popular historical romance series Bridgerton has been a huge success, revitalizing two genres at the same time. The Netflix show, based on Julia Quinn’s novels, stays true to the books while beautifully capturing the charm and imagination of each story. Each season focuses on a different book, and season five will tell the story of Francesca and Michaela.
The show Bridgerton is set in a reimagined version of Regency-era Britain, called The Ton. While inspired by the period, it deliberately avoids the racism and prejudice of the time, and features bold, imaginative costumes. This approach has resulted in a diverse cast, engaging stories for all viewers, and visually stunning outfits that often give the show a fantastical feel.
Viewers are buzzing about who will play the new Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton, the show’s secretive gossip writer who keeps everyone updated on the latest happenings in high society. Season 5 is currently being filmed, but we don’t have a release date yet, which means new fans have time to catch up on all the drama and romance on Netflix before the next season arrives.
Prime Video
Fallout
Adapting video games for television is tricky. Games are interactive and change based on player choices, while TV shows need a fixed storyline that appeals to a broad audience. However, Prime Video’s Fallout is being praised as one of the best video game adaptations ever made, largely due to its unique approach to the source material.
Rather than simply recreating a Fallout game storyline, the TV series captures the games’ unique atmosphere and style. It then uses familiar character archetypes to tell a brand new story. The show also features an outstanding cast, with Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten receiving high praise for their acting.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the showrunner for Fallout, says season 3 will finally include elements fans of the games have been hoping for, potentially making the show even more connected to the source material. But you don’t need to know anything about the Fallout games to enjoy the TV series. Filming for the new season is scheduled to begin in May 2026.
Apple TV
Severance
Different streaming services offer varying amounts of science fiction content, and the differences are especially noticeable in this genre. While Netflix is known for canceling sci-fi shows before they can fully develop, Apple TV has quickly become the go-to platform for fans of science fiction.
Apple TV has become known for giving bold science fiction shows a platform, and that’s how we got gems like Severance. This intriguing drama imagines a world where a shadowy company allows employees to surgically divide their memories, creating separate work and home personalities. But when one worker begins to question the company’s motives, things start to unravel.
Apple TV+ is a great place to find finished science fiction shows, and good news for fans of Severance: the story will continue! A third season has been confirmed and production is starting soon. Following the dramatic finale of season two, where a major character made a significant decision, the next season of Severance promises to be its most captivating yet.
Hulu
The Bear
The comedy-drama The Bear quickly became a hit on Hulu, a streaming service that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. While often overshadowed by bigger names like Netflix and Prime Video, Hulu offers some great shows, and The Bear has really put the platform on the map.
As a huge fan, I’ve been completely hooked on The Bear. There are four seasons out now, and sadly, the fifth one will be the last. It follows Carmy, this incredibly skilled chef, who comes back to Chicago after his brother passes away to run the family sandwich shop. It’s such a compelling watch because you see him going from these fancy, Michelin-star restaurants to this totally different, chaotic environment – it’s a really great mix of funny moments and dramatic tension as he tries to make it all work.
Although The Bear doesn’t always perfectly reflect reality, restaurant professionals consistently commend its realism, especially its accurate portrayal of the intense pressure of a restaurant’s opening night. The show enjoys a 93% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and a final season is currently being developed.
HBO Max
The Pitt
TV dramas often get medicine wrong. Shows like ER, Casualty, and House are popular, but even the best ones don’t accurately portray what it’s really like to work in a hospital. However, the HBO Max series The Pitt showed that medical dramas can be realistic.
Each installment of The Pitt happens in real time, covering everything that occurs during one work shift. Beyond the typical drama, the show realistically portrays challenges like understaffing and the general busyness of a hospital. Medical professionals and hospital staff have consistently praised The Pitt for its authentic portrayal of hospital life.
After a major staff shake-up at the end of season 2, The Pitt has been picked up for a third season. The creators are aiming for a regular release schedule, and this focus on consistency and realistic storytelling could help the show become as popular as long-running medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy.
Disney+
Daredevil: Born Again
Disney+ has launched several excellent shows that have revitalized their respective franchises. While Andor is a standout example, Daredevil: Born Again is also proving to be a hit, and is currently the platform’s strongest action series. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is sometimes seen as predictable, but Daredevil: Born Again demonstrates that Marvel can succeed with a darker, more realistic approach.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio deliver excellent performances as Daredevil and Kingpin, their characters locked in a fierce rivalry. The show, Daredevil: Born Again, is known for its gripping intensity, and the fight scenes have gotten even better in season 2. Fans can expect even higher stakes in season 3, which is currently filming and scheduled to be released in March 2027.
Paramount+
Landman
Taylor Sheridan has become known for creating compelling Western TV shows, starting with the huge success of Yellowstone. He’s continued to build on that world and explore other stories within the Western genre. His new show, Landman, isn’t related to Yellowstone, but it’s another excellent example of his work.
Landman is a modern Western drama set during the oil boom in West Texas. It centers on Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, who works for an oil company handling difficult situations. The series explores the conflicts between the oil workers and the company executives, and features intense drama involving accidents, violence, and personal connections, all set against the backdrop of the oil fields.
The third season of Landman is set to premiere on Paramount+ in November 2026. Most of the original cast will be back, and we can expect to see some new characters as well. Expect at least one wedding in the new season, and big things are coming for Tommy, who recently launched his own oil company. It remains to be seen if he’ll be as successful running his own business as he was working for others.
