Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time are coming back this summer in a new spinoff series. Although the pair have teamed up before, this is a first for the Adventure Time franchise – a completely new show focused on them!
Oni Press has announced its June releases, including a preview of a new Adventure Time special! Written by Rosie Knight (known for Godzilla: Monster Island Summer Camp) and illustrated by Evgenia Verel, Adventure Time Pride Special: PB & Marcy’s Infinite Mixtape #1 (scheduled for 2026) will be the first-ever Pride-themed installment in the Adventure Time franchise. It’s a way for the show to join in the celebration of Pride Month, observed throughout June, alongside fans around the world.

This Pride Special centers on an incredibly unique, in-character premise for the two girlfriends, as the issue treats the reader as the “top listener of the Scream Queens,” AKA Princess Bubblegum and Marceline’s band. Fans can learn what to expect from this special from the official synopsis below:
Great news! Because you’re a dedicated listener of Scream Queens, we’re excited to share something special: Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum have made a brand-new mixtape to celebrate their anniversary, and you’re among the first to hear about it!
It’s unsettling when revisiting the past makes me question my memories. I start to wonder if I’ve been seeing things too optimistically, or if someone has been manipulating my perception all along. It makes me feel like I’m not sure what’s real anymore, and if I’ve been played for a fool.
Beyond an already incredible story, this release will feature beautiful cover art. Evgenia Verel, the lead artist for the special, created the main cover. Two additional covers will be available for open order, illustrated by Chan and Jaki King. Plus, a special incentive cover by Mary Ainza will also be available.
Each cover has a unique artistic style, but they’re all incredibly beautiful and showcase Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time. Jaki King’s cover is especially noteworthy, depicting PB and Marceline in a warm embrace – a perfect representation of the Pride Month theme for this visually striking Adventure Time special.
