The team-up fans have been waiting for between Spider-Man and Daredevil might not happen as soon as expected. While Charlie Cox, as Daredevil, already appeared with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in No Way Home – playing Peter Parker’s lawyer, Matt Murdock – many hoped they’d soon see the two heroes fighting crime together as masked vigilantes. A crossover seemed likely in 2026, but that now appears uncertain.
During a panel about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 at C2E2 2026 (reported by The Pop Verse), Charlie Cox was asked if he’d be appearing in Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He was honest, saying he truly has “no idea” whether he’ll be involved.
To be honest, I’m not sure if I’ll be in the second season of the show, though it’s fantastic. I was part of the first season, but I haven’t received any scripts for the new season. It’s a very secretive production, similar to the one I’m currently working on, so they just send us scenes as they come. It’s actually quite enjoyable to be surprised and watch everything unfold with the audience.

It’s strange to hear this news, considering it was already announced at New York Comic-Con in 2025 that Daredevil would be in Season 2, and Charlie Cox was confirmed to voice the character.
It’s doubtful the character was completely removed from the season by the time the announcement was made. Filming would have been too advanced for such a big change. It’s more likely that David Cox simply didn’t know his role had already been revealed and was pretending to be unaware.
It’s also possible that some of his lines for Season 2 were recorded earlier, perhaps even before he was fully aware of it.
Because animated shows aren’t recorded in order, the actor Bruce Cox might have recorded his lines without knowing the whole story or how they’d eventually fit into the show.
This reminds him of his work on Season 1, which he recorded in 2021 while taking breaks from filming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. That was years before the show actually came out. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man didn’t premiere until January 29, 2025.

In Season 1, Daredevil, played by Cox, first appears in the sixth episode, “Duel With the Devil.” In that episode, he has a fight with Spider-Man on a rooftop.
Okay, so things get really interesting in the season finale! Turns out he’s been playing a double game the whole time, secretly teaming up with another Oscorp intern named Jeanne Foucault – Finesse plays her. He basically told her to take a job at Harry Osborn’s new company, WEB, so they could both keep tabs on the Osborns. It’s a clever move, and it sets up a lot for what’s to come, honestly.
Interestingly, even though Daredevil is voiced by the same actor, the Spider-Man cast is different in this animated show. Peter Parker is voiced by Hudson Thames, not Tom Holland.
Daredevil’s Potential Role in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
Even with Cox’s recent statement, most fans still expect Daredevil to appear on Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man later this year.
Considering how the first season ended, Daredevil is expected to have a much bigger role in Season 2. The final scene showed him committing to a new mission, with a contact, Finesse, working within Wilson Fisk’s organization. This gives Daredevil an inside source who can provide information about the Osborn family and their plans.
With dangers increasing – whether from Osborn’s experiments or Doc Ock escaping – Daredevil might have to take a more active role. This could lead to a stronger partnership and better teamwork with Spider-Man.
