Reba McEntire is famous as a country music star, but she’s also incredibly funny. Many people still love her early 2000s sitcom, Reba, even though it finished airing in 2007 – it’s even become popular again thanks to social media. While she’s shown her comedic talent in other acting roles, her recent series is reminding everyone just how good she is, and it’s now a popular hit on Netflix as it prepares for its third season.
NBC’s Happy’s Place premiered on Netflix on April 1st and has quickly become a hit, landing in the streaming platform’s Top 10 within days, according to Flixpatrol. The sitcom is filmed with a live studio audience and its first season has an impressive 18 episodes – more than many shows. Beyond the episode count, Reba McEntire’s involvement is a major attraction, and it remains to be seen if viewers will continue tuning in.
Happy’s Place’s Future is Already Secured on NBC

Though Happy’s Place is recently gaining popularity on streaming, it’s already become a success on NBC. The show first aired in October 2024, bringing Reba McEntire back to sitcom television after 17 years, and quickly found an audience. NBC renewed it for a second season in February 2025 (which is currently airing), and just this year, the show was renewed for a third season.
Reba McEntire is a big reason people are watching the new series, but Happy’s Place is connecting with viewers for more than just fond memories. The show centers around Bobbie McAllister (McEntire), who unexpectedly co-inherits a bar, called Happy’s Place, from her father. She quickly learns she has a younger half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), who also inherited half the business. The two, who didn’t know about each other due to an affair in their father’s past, must now work together to run the bar and build a relationship as sisters.
The show has a delightful and humorous premise, boosted by a fantastic supporting cast. Melissa Peterman, known for her work with Reba McEntire on Reba, plays Gabby the bartender, and Rex Linn is Emmett, the cook. Several guest stars, including familiar faces from Reba, have made appearances, adding to the fun. This blend of the familiar and the new makes for a really enjoyable series, and it’s clear why Happy’s Place is doing so well on Netflix – it’s consistently funny and keeps viewers entertained.
You can watch the first season of Happy’s Place on Netflix. New episodes of Season 2 are currently being released on Fridays on NBC.
