Olympians Noah Lyles, Junelle Bromfield Marry in Georgia Ceremony

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield have achieved their gold medal finish.

The couple got married in a ceremony celebrating Black love, called “All Shades of Melanin,” in Trenton, Georgia on April 4th, as they shared with Vogue magazine.

Junelle described the event as a beautiful display of togetherness. She was thrilled to see people from different backgrounds coming together, having fun, and sharing a feeling of love and connection.

The couple is getting married almost two years after the Olympic sprinter proposed to Junelle, 28. He proposed with a romantic display featuring a heart made of roses, candles, and sparklers, complete with a neon sign asking, “Will you marry me?”

In an Instagram video, Noah proposed to Junelle. He was wearing a unique black suit with a gold stripe, and he got down on one knee in front of a special display to ask the question.

Junelle happily accepted Noah’s proposal, showing off her new ring as their loved ones celebrated. Noah shared a video of the moment with the caption, “To my future wife, I will love you forever.”

After the couple shared their exciting news, many of their celebrity friends offered congratulations. Actor Terry Crews simply wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS YOU GUYS,” and Olympian Fredrick Richard added a smiling emoji with his message, “Huge congrats bro.”

In a video shared after the proposal, Jamaican athlete Junelle thanked everyone present, saying, “I’m so happy and grateful to all of you.”

She added, “I hope you guys will also be along with us for the rest of our journey.”

So, how did Junelle and Noah get together? They first connected in 2017 when Junelle messaged Noah online. However, as Noah, a six-time world champion, has said, they didn’t start dating right away.

As a big fan, it was really interesting to hear Noah talk on the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast last June. He explained he’s naturally quite guarded, especially since he’s still relatively new to the professional track scene. He said, and I totally get it, that after breaking the 300m indoor world record, he was hesitant to share his contact information with just anyone. He was right to be careful – you never know who might try to exploit that kind of success!

The couple quickly overcame their initial awkwardness and began connecting through phone calls and mobile games. They eventually met in person a year later, but Noah admitted their first date wasn’t a huge success.

I always held onto hope, you know? Even when things didn’t work out the first time around for Noah and Junelle, I just knew they were meant to be. And thank goodness, because after they both went through other stuff, they finally gave it another shot! It was like fate, honestly. I was SO relieved when they decided to try again.

Noah explained that shortly after the Olympics, he ended his relationship. He then reached out to Janelle, and surprisingly, she responded.

It didn’t take long for Junelle to realize the Olympic gold medalist was the one – she knew after just their first date in New York City.

She explained that she decided she wanted to be his girlfriend right then and there. He’d been waiting for her in the rain, and when she called an Uber, he ran out and opened the car door for her, waiting until the car had fully arrived.

After becoming official with their relationship seven months after the 2022 World Athletics Championships, the couple has positively influenced each other’s lives.

Okay, so it started about two years ago. My boyfriend is really into therapy, and honestly, I thought he had a point – I probably needed to talk things through too. But now? It’s amazing! I seriously feel like I can just soak up every single moment of life, because, you know, it’s just… short. It’s like I finally get it, and I’m so grateful I started.

And Junelle, too, has taught Noah a thing or two about taking a beat.

Noah explained on the Inside Track Podcast in March 2024 that conflict is difficult for him because he prefers to address issues immediately. He described how, when disagreements arise, his instinct is to talk things through right away. However, his partner needs time to process and reflect before discussing it, which has taught him a lot about patience. He considers it his best relationship yet.
