As a huge fan of The Boys, I’m really excited – and a little nervous – about the final season on Amazon Prime Video. It looks like we’re heading towards an all-out war between Vought’s super-hero team, The Seven, and our favorites, The Boys themselves. While the show is all about people with powers, it’s awesome that regular guys like Hughie (Jack Quaid), Frenchie (Tomer Capone), and Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) are still so vital to the fight against these unbelievably powerful beings. Honestly, facing impossible odds is pretty much the story of the show so far, and I expect this last season will be no different!
Things are different this year. Homelander and his team of Supes are no longer hiding their power, now openly controlling the U.S. government. This leaves The Boys in a truly desperate situation, struggling to find a way to survive in this new reality. Even with some superpowered allies on their side, they face an incredibly difficult challenge just to stay alive.

In a recent interview with MovieWeb, The Boys actor discussed his character’s arc in Season 5. He explained that his character is starting to accept the fact that the villains often succeed, which is making him increasingly cynical. Having lost hope and embraced Butcher’s ruthless approach, he’s now seriously questioning whether it’s even worth continuing the fight, given how bleak things look.
This isn’t the same M.M. we’ve seen before. He’s become deeply cynical and lost hope, realizing that despite doing what’s right, the villains always seem to win. This season, he’s fully embraced Butcher’s bleak worldview, and he’s constantly battling with the question of whether to keep fighting or just give up. That internal struggle is really what defines his character arc this season.
Although we don’t yet know exactly what M.M. will be doing in Season 5, recent comments offer a glimpse into his inner conflict as he battles Vought. With Butcher now willing to do anything – even using Compound V himself – M.M. is in a difficult position, wanting to defeat the Supes but also desperately trying to maintain his own mental state.
The first glimpses of Season 5 hint at an epic battle between heroes and villains. Butcher, now with new abilities, will confront Homelander and The Seven, aiming to defeat them. While Mother’s Milk will undoubtedly fight alongside him, it’s clear the conflict will be incredibly dangerous, and he likely won’t escape without injuries.
The Boys Season 5 will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on Apr. 8, 2026.
