I’ve just started watching season 5 of The Boys, and the first two episodes are now streaming on Prime Video! It’s incredible – we finally get to see what Homelander’s been up to and things are already taking some seriously unexpected turns. I’m completely hooked!
The current season will wrap up the main storyline focusing on Homelander, Butcher, The Seven, and The Boys. However, the universe of the show will live on through the spin-off series Vought Rising and possibly a third season of Gen V.
Before the fifth season began, the show’s creator, Eric Kripke, explained they couldn’t afford large-scale battles like those in Game of Thrones. However, he hinted that the season would feature many intense, face-to-face conflicts.
“I hope it’s cathartic and emotionally satisfying, but I’m a tiny bit terrified,” he said.
But, now that episodes one and two are available, when can fans expect to see the next instalment?

Following a typical launch strategy for Prime Video series, the first three episodes of Gen V season 2 became available on the streaming service all at once on Wednesday, September 17th.

What is The Boys season 5 about?
Okay, so heading into the final season of this show, things are seriously bleak. It’s all about Homelander now – he’s completely lost it, and everyone is just living at the mercy of his unpredictable, self-obsessed behavior. We find Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie locked up in what’s basically a prison disguised as some kind of ‘Freedom Camp,’ while Annie’s desperately trying to rally any kind of resistance against the sheer power of the Supes. And adding to the mystery, Kimiko has vanished – no one knows where she is. It’s setting up to be a really dark and intense conclusion.
When Butcher returns with a virus capable of eliminating all Supes, he triggers a series of events that will drastically and permanently alter the world. This is the peak of the action – expect major developments.
