Marvel Kills 2 Major Villains in Shocking Multiverse Event

As a huge comic book fan, I always thought the Marvel 2099 universe was going to be the definitive future for Marvel. They’ve explored alternate futures a bunch of times, both before and after 2099, but that particular world just really stuck with people, myself included. The recent ‘End 2099’ event seemed like it might wrap things up for that timeline, but it ended with a really unexpected twist – the deaths of two major villains. It was a shocker, honestly!

Wow, the ending of The End 2099 #5 really hit hard! It was written by Steve Orlando, and the artwork was a team effort from Gabriel Guzman, Stefano Nesi, Daniel Picciotto, and Ibraim Roberson. The whole series was basically this crazy battle royale set up by a bet between two seriously powerful, otherworldly bad guys. It was intense!

The incredibly powerful being known as Abyssus – a combination of Galactus and the god Knull – faced off against the demon Mephisto. Mephisto, worried Abyssus would destroy all the souls he’d collected, gathered an army from the heroes and villains of the year 2099. Abyssus, however, drew his forces from throughout the entire multiverse. In the end, both parts of Abyssus were destroyed.

How Knull and Galactus die in Marvel 2099?

During a fierce battle, a team led by Spider-Man 2099 went in search of the Ultimate Nullifier—a weapon in the Marvel Universe capable of destroying anything, even the most powerful beings. But using it comes with a terrible price: it always kills whoever wields it. This means only those facing absolute desperation or acting with the highest ideals would ever consider using such a dangerous tool.

The heroes didn’t want to use the Ultimate Nullifier, though. Instead, they gave it to Galactus, whose scouts had noticed he was appalled by Knull’s evil – especially since they’d teamed up. They also pointed out the terrible price of using the Nullifier.

Galactus managed to break free from the alien symbiote god and, using the Ultimate Nullifier, destroyed them both. However, this act was actually part of a plan by Mephisto, who surprisingly saved the future simply to benefit himself. This turn of events was particularly ironic because it ultimately prevented the very “End” that the Marvel 2099 miniseries seemed to foreshadow.

The End 2099 #5 is now available at comic shops everywhere.
