The Hunter x Hunter/Sailor Moon Crossover Explained

The creator of Hunter x Hunter has a unique connection to Sailor Moon. Yoshihiro Togashi married Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon, back in 1999. This connection has led to fun possibilities for crossovers between the two series. Although an official anime episode bringing the worlds of hunters and Sailor Scouts together hasn’t happened, anything is possible in the world of anime!
Based on comments from the author, Togashi, we can expect more chapters of Hunter x Hunter to be released in the future. Chapter 410 was published in Weekly Shonen Jump earlier in 2024, and Togashi has confirmed that several chapters are already finished. With the inking for chapter 430 now complete, fans can look forward to seeing more of the Succession Contest Arc when the manga continues.
The previous anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter, created by Studio Madhouse, covered the story up to the 13th Hunter Chairman Election Arc, which dealt with the aftermath of the Chimera Ant Arc. The manga continued the story significantly after that point, and it’s unclear whether a new anime will pick up where Studio Madhouse left off or retell the story from the beginning. Currently, Studio Madhouse is working on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, so fans will have to wait to see if they decide to revisit the world of Hunter x Hunter.
