Emmerdale reveals Cain Dingle’s fate and whose car hit him in dramatic early ITVX release

After yesterday’s shocking cliffhanger in Emmerdale, it’s been revealed who hit Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) with their car.

Cain was having a normal phone conversation with his wife, Moira, in prison when he was suddenly hit by a car. Before the accident, the show hinted that several people might be responsible, including Kerry Pollard, Graham Foster, and Jacob Sugden.

Kerry was upset as she told her husband, Eric, that she was leaving to be with her manager, Jai Sharma. Meanwhile, Graham was embarrassed and hurt to discover that his ex-girlfriend, Rhona, had decided to remain with her husband, Marlon, despite their obvious connection.

Jacob had a terrible day at Hotten General Hospital. He ended up performing CPR on a patient who had a do-not-resuscitate order, and it turned out the patient was the father of his strict boss, Dr. Todd (Caroline Harker).

She explained to him that he’d made a serious mistake with significant consequences, and it could jeopardize his chances of becoming a fully qualified doctor.

Tired and stressed, he was the one who accidentally hit Cain.

Thankfully, the Dingle family’s father survived his ordeal. He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries weren’t serious.

However, Cain was told his planned prostate surgery needed to be postponed until he’d fully recovered, as proceeding too soon could increase the risk of the cancer spreading.

Once he discovered Jacob was to blame, Cain issued a disturbing threat. He promised Jacob would avoid intense police scrutiny if he completed his task, but warned Kerry that if his cancer spread, he would blame Jacob directly.

With such a dilemma on his hands, what will Jacob do?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
