Last time on Invincible, Mark Grayson defeated Conquest. In the next episode, titled “You Look Horrible,” Nolan revealed something serious about Conquest, suggesting he was finished.
The scene after the credits startled some viewers with dramatic music and imagery suggesting the character might return from the grave. However, it quickly became clear this was a playful joke aimed at comic book fans. The scene remains faithful to the original story, confirming this character won’t be returning, but it also hints that we haven’t seen the last of him.
Mark faced problems because he let Angstrom Levy survive, leading to attacks from alternate, evil versions of himself. This is how his personal story connects with the return of Conquest.
Conquest Lives On in the Multiverse
Unless the story significantly alters things – perhaps by having Conquest miraculously survive two encounters with Mark – it’s unlikely we’ll see the character again. Nolan made it very clear Conquest was gone, even giving him a grave to emphasize his permanent death.
However, fans might still see this version of the character again due to the Multiverse. One of Mark’s evil alternate selves, known as Mohawk Mark, could reappear. We last saw him at the end of the previous season when Levy sent him and his duplicates through portals, leaving them stranded on a desolate Earth.

Okay, so things got really complicated when Levy came back. He basically sent Mark – Invincible – to the dimension where he’d previously trapped all his other selves. It was a nightmare! Mark almost became a snack for one of them, but thankfully he ran into Mohawk, who was one of only two people left alive after everyone started… well, let’s just say they started eating each other. It’s a whole thing, a really long and messed up thing.
After escaping the ruined planet, Mohawk took Angstrom Levy to his home universe, intending to begin his plan to conquer the multiverse. Determined to eliminate the threat Levy still posed to himself and his family, Mark pursues them, aided by Robot.

As soon as they arrive in Mohawk’s world, they’re met by Conquest, who pleads with them to join the fight against something. When they refuse, he assumes they’re allies of Thragg’s resistance and leads them to Mohawk.
Aside from a quick cameo, Conquest doesn’t play any further role in this section of the story. He doesn’t even get a rematch with Mark, simply remaining a background character and one of Mohawk’s devoted Viltrumite warriors.
The Invincible show has largely stayed true to the comic book source material. While characters like Tech Jacket have seen some changes, it’s doubtful the series will significantly expand his storyline or prolong Mark’s time trapped in Mohawk’s universe, especially since Robot has left to pursue his own plans for world domination.
The show might reveal more about Mark’s experiences in that other dimension and with Conquest, but most likely, fans will only get a few extra lines of dialogue. When he returns, he’ll probably just have a brief, memorable appearance.
