A highly anticipated anime based on the popular manga Marriagetoxin has just launched as part of the Spring 2026 season. Created by Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda, the manga first appeared on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ in 2022 and has quickly gained a dedicated fanbase. The anime adaptation, produced by Bones Film, is already generating a lot of excitement, even after just one episode. However, Netflix Anime has announced that it will only be available in certain Asian countries, and hasn’t yet specified exactly which ones.
In the US, the new season will likely become available on Netflix a few months after it finishes airing in Japan. New episodes will stream on Crunchyroll every Tuesday at 7:30 AM Pacific Time, soon after they are shown in Japan. This schedule currently applies only to the episodes with subtitles; an English dub is expected about two weeks after the season begins. The anime will have 13 episodes and is planned to adapt the Water User and Ureshino story arcs following the initial episodes.
What Is Marriagetoxin About?

Packed with exciting action, compelling characters, and heartwarming scenes, Marriagetoxin is a standout Shonen Jump series. The story centers on Hikaru Gero, a member of a centuries-old clan of assassins. Known as the Poison Clan, they’re considered one of the most skilled groups of hitmen, famous for their expertise in poisons and traps. They’re feared in the criminal world for their unique skills, particularly their assassins’ ability to quickly eliminate targets with clever tactics and indirect attacks, leaving no chance for escape.
He’s the best in the business as a hitman, but because he grew up outside of normal society and never went to school, he doesn’t have any friends or social life. He never planned to get married, but his family pressures him into finding a wife and having a child. They’re worried about the family line ending with him, and he reluctantly agrees to their demands to protect his sister from being forced into a marriage she doesn’t want.
I’m totally hooked on this story! It centers around Hikaru, who’s determined to make his sister happy, even if it means bending the truth to the clan about her relationship. He ends up proposing a fake marriage to Mei Kinosaki, who everyone knows is a bit of a marriage schemer, just to keep things peaceful. But it quickly turns out Mei has secrets of her own, and they team up – it’s a really clever partnership! After getting the initial setup out of the way, the story jumps into a new arc where Mei gets Hikaru involved in helping people. It’s a great twist and throws a whole new set of problems his way – I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
