Coronation Street airs tense scenes for Todd Grimshaw as evil Theo catches secret visitor in early ITVX release

In today’s episode of Coronation Street, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was discovered trying to get Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) to talk about the abuse he suffered from Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).

Okay, so after George figured out something was seriously off with Theo, everyone around Todd really tried to get him to talk. They all came together hoping to help him break through whatever he was going through, but honestly, it didn’t work. Todd just shut down and flat-out denied anything was wrong. It was frustrating to watch, honestly – you could feel the tension building and building, but he just wouldn’t budge.

He even agreed to move to Belfast to start afresh with Theo.

Since being isolated, Todd hasn’t wanted to leave his apartment, and no one has seen him. Sarah shared her worries with Christina Boyd at the cafe, then went to see if she could talk to him.

As soon as Theo left, Todd shielded the doorbell camera so he wouldn’t catch Sarah entering the house.

It was such a relief to see Todd just be himself around Sarah. They’ve been best friends forever, and it’s easy to forget they actually dated way back in the early 2000s – they even have a child together! It’s great to see them in a place where they can relax and not worry about saying the wrong thing.

Things got really awkward when Todd suddenly started criticizing how much sugar was in a biscuit. It struck me as odd because he never usually says anything about stuff like that, and I could tell Sarah noticed it too.

As viewers have seen, Theo has been body-shaming Todd and restricting what he can and can’t eat.

Todd reacted defensively and asked Sarah to leave when she started questioning him and seemed concerned about possible physical abuse. Just as she was about to leave, Theo came home, forcing Sarah to quickly hide in the bedroom.

Theo suspected Todd was keeping a secret and started searching their apartment to find out what it was. Todd strongly insisted nothing was going on, but when Theo noticed two mugs in the kitchen, he realized someone else had been there.

Theo claimed he didn’t mind Sarah’s visit, but the three of them had a very uncomfortable tea together. Sarah could tell by Todd’s expression that he was likely in trouble once she was gone.

As soon as Sarah walked away, Theo quickly moved toward Todd. He assured Todd he wouldn’t be harmed—at least, not yet.

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm and from 7am on ITVX.
