Gracie Hunt’s new ring isn’t just bling. 

Just a week after getting engaged to Derek Green, the daughter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ owner shared that her engagement ring holds a special significance, symbolizing the joining of their two families.

Okay, so you will NOT believe this! I’ve been digging, and apparently, the ring Patrick got Gracie? It’s connected to her family history! Scott Polk, this amazing jeweler in Dallas at Lyles DeGrazier, actually helped design the ring Clark Hunt – Gracie’s dad – gave to her mom, Tavia! It’s like, a family tradition with this jeweler, and Patrick continued it! I’m seriously losing it right now, it’s the sweetest thing ever!

Gracie shared with People magazine that Derek helped design the ring with jeweler Lyles DeGrazier. This makes the ring particularly meaningful to her, as a lot of care and consideration went into every aspect of its creation.

The ring felt extra special to the 27-year-old because of its connection to her family, including her younger siblings, Knobel Hunt, 23, and Ava Hunt, 21.

As a lifestyle expert, I always love seeing personal touches in wedding details, and this one was particularly sweet! The groom-to-be had two emeralds added to the band of the bride’s ring, alongside her beautiful cushion-cut diamond. It was a really thoughtful way to incorporate his family name – a detail the bride, Gracie, absolutely adored.

However, the most meaningful detail about the gift for Gracie—who began dating Derek in 2025 after being friends for almost ten years—is a special engraving.

Gracie explained that the ring is especially meaningful because her partner had a beloved Bible verse engraved inside, serving as a daily reminder of the strong faith that underpins their relationship.

She was totally surprised when he proposed on April 3rd, during a family vacation in Mexico. The Southern Methodist University graduate hadn’t expected it at all.

“It was such a magical surprise!” Gracie said. “We’d been planning this trip for months, hoping to get everyone together for Easter. I had a feeling a proposal was coming someday, but I didn’t know when he’d actually pop the question.”

When he did finally pop the question though, it was in the best way possible. 

Gracie described the proposal as surreal. When she turned around, she was stunned to see Derek waiting at the end of a beautifully arranged setup, leaving her completely without words.

Derek, whose father is former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, created a stunning setting for his proposal to Gracie, with flowers and candles everywhere. But for the fitness influencer, the heartfelt moment itself was what truly mattered.

She explained she was overcome with emotion, feeling completely overwhelmed. Seeing Derek get emotional only intensified those feelings, reminding her how significant the moment was for both of them.
