Gunzilla Games, the studio behind the battle royale game Off the Grid, is dealing with some issues. Several employees have reported that they haven’t been paid on time, and some are waiting for payments that are months overdue.
Former VFX animator Paul Creamer claims Gunzilla hasn’t paid him for work completed as early as October 2025. He stated on LinkedIn that the studio still asks for ongoing work but hasn’t given him any confidence he’ll be paid what he’s owed.
I’ve accepted that I’ll never get back the money I lost, and the harm has already been done. It seems Gunzilla will face no consequences for their actions, and this pattern will likely repeat itself endlessly. Artists will continue to be exploited, with our dedication and creativity used for others’ gain. They say we should be grateful we get to pursue our passions, but it feels like that’s used as an excuse to take advantage of us.
Look, as a gamer, it’s really frustrating to see what’s going on. Basically, these company heads are just looking out for themselves, and they’ll happily let the gaming community suffer to get richer. We need to band together and hold them accountable, or things are just going to keep getting worse. They need to be stopped before they completely ruin the experience for everyone.
Video Games Chronicle (VGC) reported that several people have come forward with similar stories and offers of support. Rayan Tiraghan, a gameplay animator who worked at the company from July 2024 to February 2026, expressed his solidarity, saying he is also owed money. Former UI programmer Riccardo Galdieri added that the problem is widespread, with “dozens of people” waiting to be paid. He shared that he previously posted about the issue and was pressured to stay silent, but he was able to recover his wages with the help of a lawyer, advising others to remain hopeful.
More claims are emerging that the studio is trying to suppress opposing viewpoints (as detailed in Creamer’s recent post), and the situation is deeply disheartening. This is particularly worrying when you consider the recent wave of studio closures and job losses, which highlights how difficult the gaming industry is becoming for the people who create the games we love.
I’m still waiting to hear something official from Gunzilla about what’s been said. I really hope they can fix things with their employees and get back in their good graces, but honestly, it looks like they have a lot of work to do to earn that trust back.
