Netflix Is Going Much Bigger With The Eternaut’s Future
Netflix has expanded its presence in Argentina with plans to create more film and TV content from the region. They also announced exciting news about The Eternaut, a popular Argentine series, which is set to return in 2027. Even before the second season airs, discussions are already underway for a potential third season. Netflix is heavily investing in Season 2, as The Eternaut is the most successful TV show ever produced in Argentina.
According to Francisco Ramos, Netflix’s VP of Content for Latin America, they’re taking things to the next level with this project. While some behind-the-scenes work is underway, filming with the actors hasn’t started yet. This season is much larger in scale and budget than the first, so they’re still figuring out the shooting schedule.
The Eternaut Is Becoming the Next Major Sci-Fi Franchise
The second season of The Eternaut was initially intended to be the series finale. However, Netflix is now planning to develop The Eternaut into a continuing, long-running show.
According to Ramos, the team needs to successfully complete all planned content for Season 2 while also ensuring they can continue the project into a possible Season 3. The first season was a turning point, making Argentina a key market, as they realized content was performing well both within the country and globally.
