As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited they finally revealed the next main game! It’s called Pokémon Winds and Waves, and it’s currently slated to come out sometime in 2027. We don’t know much about the new generation yet, but we’ve gotten a peek at the region and, best of all, the starter Pokémon! They’re continuing the tradition of having a Grass, Water, and Fire type to choose from, which is awesome. What’s really interesting is that this is the first main Pokémon game coming to the Switch 2, and I’m hoping it’ll finally change a few things that fans have been debating for years.

As a long-time Pokémon fan, it’s been so frustrating trying to stay surprised by the new games! We’ve always had to worry about spoilers, but it’s gotten way worse since around 2016 with datamining. Basically, people started digging into the game code before release and sharing details online – it happened with almost every major Pokémon game for the last decade. The Switch seemed especially easy to crack open, which really took the fun out of discovering things for myself.
