Silent Hill 1 Remake Development Started 3 Years Ago – Rumour

It’s been revealed that Bloober Team, who were recently announced to be working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, have reportedly been doing so for approximately three years. As per industry insider and leaker AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem), Konami has had a release schedule in place for some time now, focusing on the revival of the Silent Hill franchise.

According to AestheticGamer on platform X, it appears that the development of the Silent Hill 1 Remake began approximately 3 years ago. He also mentioned that there might be a delay in the schedule due to Silent Hill needing extra time. In his opinion, we can expect Silent Hill: Townfall to release next year, and the Silent Hill 1 Remake to follow the year after.

He wrote that, considering the current situation, his educated guess for the release schedule of the Silent Hill games (which can change at any moment due to the developers’ decisions) would be as follows: 2025 – Silent Hill f, 2026 – Townfall, 2027 – Remake of the original Silent Hill game, and 2028 – an internal Silent Hill project.

Back in June, it was confirmed that Bloober Team is taking on the remake of the original Silent Hill game. This news wasn’t unexpected given the positive reception and success – both critically and commercially – of last year’s Silent Hill 2 Remake. In fact, as early as February, both companies had announced their intention to collaborate more extensively in the future.

In his words, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, expresses that by joining forces and exchanging expertise, we’ve managed to generate top-notch collaborative projects alongside Konami. While we can’t disclose much at this moment, we are optimistic that the enthusiasm among fans will mirror our own for this partnership. We eagerly look forward to unveiling a unique experience for gamers when the opportunity arises.

Back in October, I, as a gaming enthusiast, had learned that Wojciech Piejko, the game director and designer at Bloober Team, had hinted at the possibility of collaborating with Konami again on more Silent Hill games. This could potentially involve remaking a classic game from the series or creating an entirely new installment in the hauntingly terrifying franchise.

Piejko stated, ‘We’re always ready for new opportunities if they appeal to us. Sometimes, you need to grab them when they come along.’ He continued, ‘Just like how Silent Hill 2 can be reimagined, I truly believe that anything is possible.’

The initial “Silent Hill” game was launched as far back as 1999 on the original PlayStation console. This game’s narrative centers around Henry Mason and his daughter Cheryl, who were en route to the holiday destination of Silent Hill. However, events take a turn for the worse when Henry swerves his car off course to prevent hitting a girl standing in the road, only to discover upon regaining consciousness that his daughter has vanished.
