Scheana Shay Shares She Nearly Dated a Woman Before Brock Davies

Scheana Shay is getting real about her dating history.

Certainly, the former star of “Vanderpump Rules” is open about her love life in her memoir, “My Good Side,” discussing her flings and short-lived romances with celebrities like Jesse Metcalfe, John Mayer, and others—not forgetting her well-known affair with Eddie Cibrian. However, she also disclosed that just before meeting her current husband, Brock Davies, she almost entered into a relationship with a female friend she calls “DD.

Scheana, aged 40, clarified that her interactions with DD, whom she met at the Stagecoach music festival, were more than just frequent, intoxicant-fueled kisses. She noted that their friendship also held a significant emotional aspect.

In her words from the book, it seemed as if we were old acquaintances. Our bond developed instantly.

She found herself drawn to her, yet initially didn’t ponder it much as she hadn’t expected to embark on a deep commitment with a woman. The situation was perplexing for her, causing numerous doubts and questions to swirl in her mind whenever she attempted to understand their relationship better.

After all, this kind of connection was new territory for Scheana.

She pondered, “Were my attractions bisexual? Or was it solely DD who captured my heart?” Previously, I had been drawn to other women, yet nothing compared to the emotions I felt for DD, and I couldn’t comprehend why.

Around late 2019, Scheana, along with DD and some pals, happened to cross paths with Brock in sunny San Diego.

She pondered, “I didn’t feel ready to acknowledge my growing feelings for Brock, as I was still enjoying discovering new experiences with a woman. I understood that committing to him would inevitably limit me in some ways.

Yet, it was only during a social outing that Brock found himself upset by the kiss shared between Scheana and DD. This incident ultimately forced Brock to decide on her feelings.

She admitted, “I firmly decided it was necessary to take a stand with DD.” Despite how difficult letting go of DD was for her, she felt confident that she was making the correct decision. Brock remains her significant other; he always has been.

In the end, Scheana and Brock, parents to 4-year-old Summer Moon, secretly got married in 2021, followed by a public declaration of their vows on camera a year afterward. However, their journey hasn’t been entirely smooth; as the “Good as Gold” singer discloses in her memoir, Brock was unfaithful while Scheana was pregnant with Summer Moon in 2020 – a fact she only learned much later.

In my latest read, I found myself delving into the personal journey of an inspiring individual who shares her challenging past and the reasons she stands firm by her choice to persevere.

Though our marriage isn’t flawless, Brock is an ideal match for me, Scheana shared with TopMob News. He pushes me in ways I’ve never been pushed before, which can be exasperating at times, but it’s because he recognizes my potential and the life we’ve created together.

For more revelations from Scheana’s memoir, read on.

It’s quite appropriate that a 21-year-old Scheana Shay crossed paths with 12 years her senior, Eddie Cibrian, while working as a waitress in an L.A. cigar bar, given that a significant portion of their relationship was filled with illusion and deception.

In her 2025 memoir titled “My Good Side“, Scheana described the actor as someone who was “sweet”, “funny”, “charismatic”, and “the epitome of a gentleman”. Interestingly, she mentioned that he never wore a wedding ring, yet he was married to Brandi Glanville and had two sons. Assuming him to be single, Scheana wrote that she didn’t recognize his fame because she never considered looking him up.

They weren’t fully committed to each other but had a regular arrangement, which they referred to as a weekly rendezvous, that started at the end of 2006. However, despite another club member later revealing he was married, she refused to accept this fact. “I didn’t want to believe it,” she explained. “Our frequent public outings made me feel less like a secret mistress!

Following the revelation, she ended things with him initially, but six months passed before they reconciled again. She narrated how he deeply regretted his actions and informed her that he had parted ways with Brandi.

In another turn of events, Eddie presented her with a collection of diamond earrings, admitted his feelings, and arranged a snowboarding excursion. She remarked that it felt like a significant advancement in our relationship.

In March 2009, she discovered his relationship with LeAnn Rimes featured prominently in magazines. She expressed her frustration, stating, “It was infuriating that Eddie didn’t have the courage to have a closing conversation.” However, she managed to move past it and has not seen Eddie since then.

While she was involved with Eddie, Scheana found herself developing feelings for Jesse Metcalfe, the gardener from “Desperate Housewives”. She shared that they would often have dinner delivered to his house with his parents present, and when it was just the two of them, he would strum his guitar and sing songs like ‘Hey There Delilah’ to her. This experience felt like living a dream come true for Scheana, as she had admired Jesse on television and in films for many years.

She mentioned being “informally connected” with John Mayer: “I tried to keep it secret because I enjoyed spending time with him. However, since our encounters weren’t always private, one of my friends revealed the truth.” When she did, “He stopped responding to me and avoided me,” she explained. “He might have thought I was the one disclosing the details of our outings.

As she chats away, she casually mentions some of the men she’s dated: Shemar Moore, Josh Hopkins, Shane West, Jesse McCartney, JC Chasez, Adrian Grenier, Ricardo Chavira, William Tell, two actors from The Notebook, and several players from NFL, NBA, and MLB, to name a few.

Back when Scheana’s future was still unwritten, she made an uncredited cameo on The Hills in 2009.

In the lively atmosphere of the Hollywood club H.Wood, she was taken aback when her companion Stacie Adams was labeled a “homewrecker” due to flirting with Spencer Pratt, while they and another friend were insultingly referred to as “vulgar terms” such as “prostitutes” and “sluts”.

However, Scheana pointed out that none of it was genuine. This took place after they finished filming, as Heidi Montag showed up in a car beside her. “She appeared so friendly,” Scheana recalled, “not at all like the cold character portrayed by MTV as Heidi, who was manipulated and presented for public consumption.” Heidi said, “‘Hello everyone, I’m sorry I had to be unkind to you; it was all just part of the show. You understand that, don’t you?’

However, it was Lisa Vanderpump who truly excelled in the art of reality TV, utilizing Scheana as staff for the SUR launch party, which was showcased in a January 2012 episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”.

Even though Lisa extended an invitation to Brandi from the RHOBH cast, I didn’t anticipate for a moment that I was being led into a setup for a spin-off. On the contrary, I had no idea that this encounter would eventually make me appear foolish on a national stage. Moreover, I wasn’t aware at the time that it would serve as a stepping stone for Lisa’s Vanderpump Rules series.

Lisa nudged Brandi towards Eddie, signaling for her to serve the appetizers. Upon hearing about Scheana’s relationship with Eddie, she feigned surprise. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses more conversational language.)

More recently, following the latest cast changes on VPR, Scheana was conversing with a producer. “During our conversation, they mentioned that when the show began, Lisa had concerns about a Disney actress who was linked to Eddie not participating,” Scheana recounted. “They were speaking about me specifically in my presence. Essentially, they revealed that Lisa had knowledge of my affair with Eddie, which I had long suspected, and used it as a catalyst for the creation of VPR.

During those times, one might have expected them to be the happiest days of her life. However, less than two years into her marriage to her high school friend Michael Shay, she chose to file for divorce on camera, exhausted by his persistent Adderall use and what she claimed were emotional infidelities he had committed behind her back.

And she admitted her feet began cooling even before she walked down the aisle in 2014.

She penned, “Regrettably, on our wedding night, doubts about whether my newlywed spouse might have an addiction arose for me.” Despite requesting him to abstain from alcohol entirely during the reception, I was relieved to observe his compliance.

At one of the rented casitas for their bridal party, she observed that his eyes appeared glassy and he was wobbly on his feet. Weeks later, when Tom Sandoval offered them small blue pills, claiming they were Ecstasy, she connected the dots.

Initially, Shay, seeming puzzled, asked, “Hold on, isn’t that the pill you gave me at the wedding? I believed it was Adderall.” Both were taken aback. It turned out that Shay didn’t plan to get intoxicated that evening. He merely wanted an Adderall to stay awake longer. (TopMob News has contacted representatives of Tom and Michael for comment but hasn’t received a response yet.)

Regardless of causing a stir for the initial seven years on Vanderpump Rules, Scheana discovered that her role had been reduced to “friend of” just prior to appearing on Watch What Happens Live.

Sharing her feelings with host Andy Cohen, she narrated, “I was crying uncontrollably.” He responded empathetically, acknowledging their imminent broadcast. “However,” he said, “we’re running short on time. I need you to pull yourself together, deliver an outstanding performance, and prove to everyone that you truly belong on this show.

Once more, she received the unwelcome phone call prior to season 10. This time, however, Scheana attributed it to her ongoing romance with husband Brock Davies. She argued that his past actions, such as admitting to slapping his ex-wife and having a troubled relationship with their children Eli and Winter, did not sit well with the audience.

Scheana clarified, “He was welcome to join group activities, but we wouldn’t be providing him with specific call schedules.

In other words, she said, “It felt like a total f–k-you.”

According to Scheana, the producers of Vanderpump Rules sometimes deliberately highlighted her negative aspects. This is supported by a confession from since-fired editor Bri Dellinger, who admitted to looking for her most awkward moments and compiling them. In her own words, Scheana said she had proof for this claim.

The worst instance occurred when Scheana was asked to converse with Stassi Schroeder’s brother, Nikolai Schroeder (who was 15 years old at that time), during Stassi’s engagement party.

In her own words, Scheana stated, “I was playfully treating him much like a younger sibling, without any serious intent attached to it. Our conversations often revolved around school, sports, and his love life. However, I was taken aback; he was only fifteen years old. It wasn’t until the last episode that things seemed to suggest I was flirting with Nikolai, which left me utterly surprised.

In the bustling atmosphere of the 2019 Stagecoach Music Festival, I encountered someone special whom I affectionately refer to as “DD.” Our shared passion for the melodious tunes of Sam Hunt sparked an immediate connection that transcended our initial encounter. As fate would have it, we found ourselves reconnecting in the vibrant cityscape of Los Angeles, where one enchanting evening at TomTom left us sharing a tender kiss.

Over the coming months, Scheana explained that it turned into an odd situation where we’d drink together, kiss, and claim we were in a relationship to others.

In my own journey, I found myself puzzled, questioning whether I might identify as bisexual, feeling isolated in relationships with men, or perhaps just drawn to the unique charm of this particular woman.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but echo her words: “It seemed to me like something beyond camaraderie, yet not quite ready for a full-blown relationship,” I confessed, opening up about my apprehensions. “Deep down, there was a part of me yearning to disclose my feelings to DD, just to gauge if she felt the same way, but the dread of being rejected overshadowed the excitement of discovering what we could become together.

At another music fest in September, I crossed paths with a charismatic fellow named Brock. Initially, there was a spark, but as our conversations unfolded, it became evident that our personalities simply didn’t mesh. However, fate had other plans, as things began to fall into place between me and Scheana, forming an unexpected connection.

After their November trip to Australia and Bali, the couple were out with DD when Scheana shared that Brock was back to his old ways, saying, “She unexpectedly kissed me,” Scheana recounted. “He reacted strongly, stating, ‘Now you’re my girlfriend. You don’t behave like that. We had a history and it’s over if you continue or I’ll leave.’

In October 2020, Scheana announced that she was expecting a baby girl named Summer Moon Honey Davies with her partner Brock, only a few months after experiencing a miscarriage. Interestingly, they weren’t actively trying to conceive, as Scheana humorously remarked, “it seems like Brock might need to brush up on his quick reactions.

Nine days prior to the start of season 9 filming, Scheana encountered a critical surge in her blood pressure during childbirth, which left her apprehensive about the outcome after 15 hours.

In that moment, she penned down how she was attempting to selfishly conceive for a television show, but the baby’s heart rate was decreasing.

Unbeknownst to her, she suffered from a severe variant of preeclampsia known as HELLP syndrome. In reflection, Scheana expressed gratitude for being induced, stating that if she’d gone into natural labor, the medical team might not have detected her preeclampsia in time. This could have potentially led to a stroke and even death.

Regrettably, her concerns didn’t cease when Summer arrived looking “limp and blue”, which is often experienced by mothers given magnesium drips. Eventually diagnosed with postpartum OCD, Scheana attributes therapy as a valuable tool in addressing issues such as her strict adherence to following 420 people on Instagram over the years, or her apprehension about taking Summer to Disneyland by herself.

Scheana expressed that she’s persistently working on various methods of exposure therapy as a means to conquer her inner struggles.

Toast to the ingenious twist that concluded season nine! As I found myself amidst the star-studded engagement party of James Kennedy and Rachel Leviss in California’s Santa Ynez Valley, a secret plan was brewing between me and my partner. Scheana here, and I confessed that our intention was to elope quietly while we were there. You see, I’d already experienced the grand, televised wedding with Shay, but all I truly yearned for was marrying Brock.

In addition, they had considered a 10th season, but ultimately decided against it due to not wanting to overshadow another bride-to-be. Scheana clarified that there was immense pressure to create an exciting finale, as everyone’s jobs were potentially at stake if it didn’t meet expectations.

In a collaborative effort, Lala Kent, Ariana Madix, and Katie Maloney devised a strategy where Lala would inform James and Rachel that Scheana was attempting to capitalize on their special day.

Scheana remarked that this revelation would lead to lots of excitement, hopefully ensuring more episodes in the future. In other words, she had job security!

Following the incident, Scheana disclosed that she returned to the hotel with Brock and Lala in the same vehicle. It turned out that we had been arguing earlier, but afterwards, we were calmly departing together in the car.

On a day in March 2023 following a press event, Rachel and Schena found themselves at a bar in New York City. As the evening unfolded, Rachel exited accompanied by Ariana, who was speaking over Tom’s phone at that moment.

When Scheana inquired about the situation, Rachel admitted, “For the past seven months, Tom Sandoval and I have been involved in an affair. Ariana has recently discovered this secret of ours.

In a fit of anger, Scheana threw Rachel’s phone into the street gutter. When Rachel tried to grab her arm, Scheana explained, “I pushed her away from me.” “She approached me again,” Scheana added, “so I gave her another push.

At the hotel later, Scheana shared with Ariana, “I physically shoved Rachel and threw her phone into the street,” she admitted. However, Ariana had the call on speakerphone, allowing Tom to hear it from afar. It seemed Tom misunderstood, thinking I had punched Rachel instead. While there were indeed many intense emotions that night, I want to clarify that I did not actually punch Raquel.

Scheana expressed her disappointment when Rachel appeared to alter her account of events, as she had initially filed a police report in L.A. and sought a temporary restraining order (which was later withdrawn). In her post, Scheana stated, “This woman was prepared to fabricate about me, risk my career and reputation, and potentially face severe legal consequences for submitting a false claim, all in an attempt to garner leniency from the media.” Rachel, on the other hand, explained that the TRO was designed to offer a cooling-off period following her being punched, but she had no intention of pursuing a permanent order.

During season 10, the Scandoval storyline took center stage, but a different story of infidelity unfolded more intimately. According to Scheana, there were whispers that Brock was involved with Rachel. She explained, “He feared that something that might be true could come out, and it was better for me to hear it straight from him.

Therefore, by the spring of 2023, Scheana discovered that Brock, who expressed apprehension about becoming a father once more according to her writings, engaged in a short-lived relationship with an old acquaintance, all whilst Scheana was pregnant with his child.

In an uncontrollable fit of fury, I couldn’t help but lash out. I struck him and tossed a Rubik’s cube at him, which he managed to dodge just in time. However, once my overwhelming rage subsided, Scheana took it upon herself to address the issues plaguing our relationship.

If she had known the truth about Brock, she probably wouldn’t have gotten married. Her response would have been significantly different without Summer in the picture.

Ultimately, when it was time for a decision, Scheana explained her dilemma. She had two paths: A) Abandon Brock and our relationship, which would mean discarding our life together, damaging my family bonds, and clinging to the bitterness that was consuming me. Or B) I could opt for forgiveness. I could release the anger and hostility, and instead, focus on progressing forward.

It’s interesting to note that Scheana’s popular single “Good As Gold” isn’t bringing her the financial success one might expect. Despite its frequent appearances on VPR and use in an Uber Eats ad, the singer revealed that she hasn’t earned significant income from it, aside from vinyl sales. Back in her early career days, her manager arranged for her to work with his entertainment lawyer instead of a music agent, which may have impacted her financial returns from the single.

Reflecting on the situation, I now believe that maybe it wasn’t advantageous for me to have a joint lawyer, but at the moment, I was unaware of the implications. I had faith in his guidance when he asked me to sign certain documents, thinking they were just routine matters.

It seems she penned, “It appears one of the agreements granted ‘Good As Gold’ rights to him. Unfortunately, I don’t currently possess copies of that deal, and I never managed to keep control over my work or obtain our initial contract despite my efforts. Perhaps things might be different now.
