Toei Games, a new video game publisher created by the famous animation studio Toei, has just revealed its first three games.

Looking for a big new game like One Piece or Dragon Ball on PS5? Unfortunately, this isn’t it – there’s nothing here to get excited about.

It appears the company is trying to establish itself as a small, specialized publisher of independent games, and its current selection of games clearly shows this direction.

Right now, all three games are being developed for PC only, but the company intends to release them on consoles in the future.

KILLA is a 3D adventure game where you play as Valhalla, investigating the murder of her beloved mentor. She travels to a mysterious island to find the killer and get justice. The game features a twisting story with different possible endings.

KILLA is a mystery adventure game set in a haunting and imaginative world inspired by puppet shows. Players use a special ability called “resonance” to explore the memories of different characters and uncover the truth by connecting pieces of their dreams.

Who is the “La” who killed her mentor? The curtain rises now on this beautifully cruel stage.

Hino

Experience a captivating dark fantasy adventure with Hino and the charming Monimoni Skeleton as they journey through a mysterious and shadowy world.

I’m really excited about this game, Hino! The art style is amazing – everything’s drawn with ballpoint pen by Yatara, which gives it a really unique look. You play as Hino, who has a red ribbon, and this funny little Monimoni Skeleton. Basically, the world is super dark and filled with creepy monsters, and it’s up to me to help them find a safe place to live. I’m ready to guide them on their journey!

As I play, I’m exploring this really dangerous world filled with monsters and tricky traps, and I’m starting to piece together the story of how it all came to be. It’s cool because the choices I make will actually determine how the game ends – there are multiple endings, and it’s all up to me!

DEBUG NEPHEMEE

DEBUG NEPHEMEE is a top-down 2D adventure game set in a place called “Nepherum.”

Here, the world is infested with bugs who inhabit creatures called Nephemees.

The game features a special combat system where you battle and infiltrate enemies, using their core beliefs and values as your guide. By doing so, you’ll uncover clues about their personalities and past experiences.

Meet a diverse and memorable group of characters as you set out to fix the problems in the world – a journey called “Debug.”

This is a pretty unusual and interesting collection of games, but we’re not quite understanding Toei’s strategy. Honestly, many similar games come out every week.

The company might be aiming to become a leading publisher like Annapurna Interactive, using its marketing power to highlight exceptional games.

Currently, this isn’t quite what we hoped for from Toei Games. PlayStation 5 gamers likely won’t be interested until the company starts releasing games for consoles.
