The latest main game in the Borderlands looter shooter series by Gearbox, titled Borderlands 4, has been finalized for production and will soon be available on various online stores following its manufacturing and certification process. Like most games, it’s expected to have an initial update ready on release day to fix any remaining issues.
In continuation of “Borderlands 3”, the fourth installment takes players to Kairos as a fresh group of Vault Hunters emerge. After the collision of Elpis with the planet, its location is exposed to the cosmos, igniting a revolt against its ruler, the Timekeeper. Players will team up with the Crimson Resistance, which includes familiar faces such as Zane, Mad Moxxi, Claptrap, Amara, and others. You can watch the story trailer here.
In Borderlands 4, in addition to fresh Action Skills and skill progression paths for each Vault Hunter, you’ll encounter Licensed Parts – a feature that allows guns to be built with parts from various manufacturers. Also, there’s the Ordnance slot that manages heavy weapons and grenades on a recharge system, and three brand-new weapon manufacturing companies have been introduced.
The upcoming game titled “Borderlands 4” is set to release on the following dates:
– For Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC: September 12th
– For Nintendo Switch 2: October 3rd
