As a die-hard fan, I’m excited to share that Techland has decided to postpone the release of their open-world action survival game, “Dying Light: The Beast,” from its initial August 22 launch date to September 17. This move is to ensure an even smoother and polished gaming experience for us all. It’s available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. If you’re among the lucky ones who have the “Ultimate Edition” of “Dying Light 2: Stay Human,” you’ll be able to claim “Dying Light: The Beast” at no extra cost! Let’s get ready for an even more thrilling adventure, folks!
Here is the full message from Techland on the delay:
To all the Kyle Crane fans,
With the imminent release of Dying Light: The Beast, the whole team here is buzzing with anticipation! Over 150 previews from journalists and content creators were published this week, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re beaming with pride over comments like “edge-of-your-seat survival horror,” “an absolute blast,” “a game with a heart,” and being labeled as a “must-play game of 2025.” It validates our initial hunch—we’re creating something truly unique and enjoyable!
The evidence shows that the community surrounding the game Dying Light stands out as exceptional. Countless gamers have scrutinized every aspect of the game with an eagle-eyed attention, noting and debating thousands of details. We value your input and opinions, taking time to read and compile them, ensuring that your voice is not only heard but also understood so we can address what matters most to you.
Our aim has consistently been to create the finest “Dying Light: The Beast” among all games we’ve launched thus far. In order to uphold this commitment, we’ve chosen to push back the release date to September 19, 2025, giving us more time for refining and perfecting the game.
While we realize this might be frustrating, our past experiences have taught us that first impressions matter greatly. By giving ourselves an extra four weeks, we can fine-tune various aspects of the project to elevate it from good to outstanding. Specifically, we plan to adjust the equilibrium of gameplay components, enhance UI clarity, boost physics quality, refine cutscenes and character animations, and add final polishing touches.
This summer, we’ve got plenty planned for you! Expect frequent studio updates to keep you engaged. Additionally, we’re excited to reveal a playable demo at Gamescom in Hall 6. Starting next week, we’ll unveil more details about the game’s violent elements, and you’ll reacquaint yourself with our beloved character, Bober the Beaver.
Almost at the finish line! Just hang tight for the next eight weeks, as we eagerly anticipate the moment when you’ll let the Beast loose on September 19.
With the best regards from the entire team at Techland,
The Developers of Dying Light: The Beast
