In an interview with Variety back in May, Kai shared, “I’ve always been who I am.” He further explained, “The most significant moment, though, was when she asked us to use different pronouns. To be truthful, it didn’t seem like a big deal to me because Kai had been so feminine for such a long time.
Kai is incredibly resilient,” he noted. “It’s crucial for her to assert, ‘I identify as transgender,’ and ‘Pay attention to me.’
