Superman Hall of Justice Mural Released, View DCU’s Metahumans & Vigilantes

In one Superman scene, numerous observant viewers believed they spotted some recognizable figures in the background. More specifically, they noticed the Hall of Justice, where a painting appeared to depict several legendary heroes from the DC Universe. Recently, James Gunn validated the existence of this mural and even shared high-resolution images of it.

The mural, featuring glass mosaics and reminiscent of a design by Winold Reiss showcasing Cincinnati’s history, was simultaneously shared on Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky. This mural seems to echo the actual Cincinnati Museum Center, where Reiss’s work is preserved, which itself has been famously replicated as the Hall of Justice.

Mural shows history of DCU and mystery actor

In addition to the well-known DC Comics characters depicted in the mural, Gunn hinted at another Easter egg suggesting future events. He mentioned that one of the characters in the mural has already been chosen for a role in the DC Universe with a well-known actor. Later on Twitter, Gunn clarified that he wasn’t referring to his brother, Sean Gunn, who appears in the mural as Maxwell Lord.

There’s been a lot of speculation about who might be cast in this upcoming project, with many theories focusing on actors Gunn has previously worked with. One frequently mentioned name is Sylvester Stallone for the role of Wildcat, a former boxer turned vigilante. This makes sense given that Rocky Balboa, another character played by Stallone, trained other heroes in Creed, much like Wildcat. Another widely discussed theory is Pierce Brosnan reprising his role as Doctor Fate following Black Adam. The mural seems to contain several references to the deep-rooted history of the DC Universe.
