Here are two fresh video games on Steam that don’t fall under the free-to-play category. One of these newly released Steam games seems to be permanently free, but since it’s still in Early Access, there might be plans to switch to a paid version once it’s fully launched. The other game is already available for download on Steam, but it’s expected to transition to a paid model soon, so Steam users should act quickly to secure this PC game at no cost before the price change takes effect.
Users of the Steam Deck should take note that some of the free Steam games do not have explicit Steam Deck compatibility. Specifically, Oil Sheik, released on Steam on July 24th, is listed as “Unsupported,” while Inverta, which became available through Steam Early Access on July 18th, shows “Unknown” for Steam Deck compatibility.
According to Steam user feedback, Oil Sheik appears to be the more recognized title, garnering more interest. This game is set to switch from a free model to a paid one in the near future. Developed and published by Reliq, it combines simulation and puzzle elements, boasting an impressive 88% positive rating. This high approval rate classifies Oil Sheik as having “Very Positive” reviews.
This free game on Steam is a strategic, tile-based puzzle game focusing on building and growing businesses while trading stocks. It blends the strategic complexity of chess with an exciting stock market simulation. Position your tiles tactically to trigger profitable mergers; however, consider investing in the related companies beforehand for optimal gains!
Another free Steam game, titled Inverta, hails from the creators Rahul Vyas, Sushil Joshi, and Aditya Chaki, with Jabsz Studios as the publisher. However, it’s hard to gauge the quality of this game as there are merely three user reviews available, all of which are positive. Yet, it is essential to note that such a small number of reviews does not provide a comprehensive view of the game’s overall quality.
“Inverta is an exhilarating 2.5D puzzle-platformer where you manipulate gravity in a chilling post-apocalyptic setting, as described in its second free Steam game’s description. Take charge of gravity itself, switch between surfaces, solve intriguing puzzles, and uncover the hidden truths of a devastated land. With groundbreaking mechanics, captivating storytelling, and demanding gameplay, Inverta provides a distinctive adventure for enthusiasts of indie games, physics-based challenges, and engrossing platformers. Can you break free from the debris of a fragmented world? Master gravity, surmount hurdles, and unravel the enigma!”
