*Warning: Contains spoilers for Monday 28th July’s episode of Emmerdale now available on ITVX*
On Monday, July 28th, Emmerdale inserted a special, last-minute scene as a tribute to the Lionesses’ triumphant victory in the 2025 Euros, which took place on Sunday, July 27th.
In the thrilling finale of the match, England’s female squad clinched their win via a 3-1 penalty shootout, largely due to Chloe Kelly’s decisive kick and Hannah Hampton’s remarkable saves that were vital all through the final moments.
With the arrival of a fresh week in Emmerdale, spectators caught a peek at the chaos that ensued following the Woolpack’s festivities, as the pub lay in shambles from the previous night’s revelry.
Bob Hope (played by Tony Audenshaw) was taken aback to find Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) appearing lively and full of energy following the celebrations, and it didn’t take much time before they started sharing their enthusiasm for the Lionesses.

Mary felt that the team couldn’t be halted anymore, and she and Bob let out a victorious cheer, acknowledging their efforts.
The show had pre-recorded an additional scene with optimism for a victory, and it seems that this move foreshadowed England’s triumph!
Producer Laura Shaw stated: “Since the entire country is supporting the Lionesses, it seemed fitting and appropriate for our fictional characters in Emmerdale to do the same. Therefore, we decided to incorporate this victory into our show.
As I basked in the afterglow of the recent cinematic events, it wasn’t long before everyday life resumed for the village folk. However, the peace was disrupted when Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), much to my chagrin, found herself cornered by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) into parting ways with Butler’s Farm.
Moira persisted in saying no to Joe, as she had just discovered that he had bribed the water company to reject her request for addressing the slurry leak issue.

However, things took a turn for the worse when two masked men, who were later identified as intruders, caused such fear in Moira’s stepson, Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn), that he ended up stabbing one of them with a pitchfork.
It so happened that the wounded individual was Dylan, a street-smart companion of April Windsor, who is also known as Amelia Flanagan.
When another uninvited person pointed a fork towards Kyle, Moira brandished a shotgun, causing the group of men to quickly leave the area.
Or, in a more conversational tone: As one of the strangers lifted a fork menacingly at Kyle, Moira pulled out a shotgun and made the guys take off in a hurry.
When I realized the incident was Joe’s doing, I bravely approached him with my fists clenched, intending to confront him. However, things took an unexpected turn as Lydia Dingle (played by Karen Blick) ended up lying injured on the floor after stepping in between us!
Will Moira regret her hasty actions?
