At the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, John Travolta received an honorary Palme d’Or recognizing his impressive fifty-year acting career, filled with iconic films like Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Blow Out, Face Off, and the groundbreaking Pulp Fiction. He was also there to premiere his new film, ‘Propeller One Way Night Coach,’ marking his debut as a director.
This film is a long-awaited adaptation of his 1997 novel. It tells the story of Jeff (Clark Shotwell), a young man passionate about aviation, and his mother as they fly across the country to Hollywood. Their trip becomes a remarkable and transformative experience, full of surprises along the way.
The film, available on Apple TV, is just an hour long and features John Travolta in a short role, also providing the voiceover. His daughter, Elle Blue Travolta, also appears in the film, and they discussed the project and the behind-the-scenes experience of John Travolta’s first time directing.
