10 Fastest Members of the Flash Family, Ranked

The Flash is known as the fastest hero in DC Comics, but the title isn’t held by just one person. Over the years, many different heroes have become the Flash, creating a whole ‘Flash Family’ of speedsters – including relatives and close friends. Every member of this family can move at incredible, almost unimaginable speeds, powered by a mysterious source called the Speed Force. Because so many heroes can tap into this power, only those with the most control over the Speed Force can truly claim to be the fastest alive.

The Speed Force is a powerful energy source in DC Comics that allows speedsters to do incredible things, and these are the members of the Flash Family who truly master its potential.

10) Avery Ho

Avery Ho, also known as the Flash of China, is a recent addition to the Flash Family. She gained super-speed after being hit by lightning from a Speed Force Storm while visiting Central City. After mastering her abilities, Avery joined Justice League China, quickly proving to be faster than even teammates like Wonder Woman and Superman. She consistently runs alongside Kid Flash, demonstrating impressive speed and skill. Recognizing her potential, Barry Allen encouraged Avery to join the multiversal Justice League Incarnate, taking his place on the team. Despite being new to the Speed Force, Avery has already achieved significant success.

9) Negative Flash

After a strange storm gave many people in Central City the power of super-speed, S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Meena Dhawan quickly adapted to her own newfound abilities and began helping others affected by the storm. Originally known as Fast Track, Meena became fast enough to compete with even the Flash and Godspeed. However, when she accidentally absorbed a dark energy called the Negative Speed Force, she became corrupted and transformed into the Negative Flash, gaining even greater speed and the ability to outpace both the Flash and Kid Flash. Though she later broke free from the Negative Speed Force and recovered her senses, Meena remains a remarkably fast and capable speedster.

8) Jesse Quick

Jesse Quick is the daughter of two famous heroes, Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle, and she’s inherited their incredible abilities. Like her mother, she has superhuman strength, but like her father, she can also tap into the Speed Force by saying a specific phrase, granting her super speed. From the beginning of her career, Jesse was incredibly fast – able to run at half the speed of light! Over time, she’s become even faster than her father, achieving amazing feats like circling the globe in seconds, dismantling a massive robot instantly, keeping up with Supergirl, exceeding the speed of light to enter the Speed Force, and even catching Reverse-Flash off guard.

7) Kid Flash

Wallace West, also known as Kid Flash, gained his powers in a unique way – a future version of himself inadvertently connected his younger self to the Speed Force, a source of incredible speed. This connection was strengthened by a Speed Force Storm, and with guidance from the Flash, Barry Allen, he became the newest member of the Flash Family. Kid Flash is incredibly fast, routinely exceeding the speed of light. He’s even demonstrated amazing feats, like escaping a void by running back in time and vibrating so quickly he briefly existed in multiple realities. While still learning to control his powers, Kid Flash shows immense potential to become an even greater hero.

6) XS

From the future – the 31st century, to be exact – XS is the granddaughter of the famous Barry Allen (also known as The Flash) and a cousin to Bart Allen. She discovered her speedster abilities when she saved her father from invaders called the Dominators. Now, as the Legion of Superheroes’ speedster, XS is incredibly fast. She’s almost perfected the ability to run through time and even into other dimensions without needing a special time machine. Sometimes, she uses this power to travel back to the present day and meet her grandfather when he was at his peak. XS has also proven she can use her speed in battle, even holding her own against a powerful speedster named Savitar.

5) Godspeed

Godspeed has a history similar to Red Hood’s within their respective superhero families: he started as a dangerous enemy but has become an uneasy ally. August Heart was once Barry Allen’s friend and colleague, but a lightning strike from a Speed Force storm gave him powers. He became Godspeed and began killing other speedsters to increase his own connection to the Speed Force. Godspeed is incredibly fast, often outperforming even the Flash and Kid Flash, and can even appear in multiple locations at once. While he remains somewhat detached, Godspeed occasionally helps the Flash Family fight threats like the Fraction and Zoom.

4) Krakkl

Krakkl is easily the strangest member of the Flash Family. He’s an alien from the Kwzz, a race that exists as living radio waves. Even for a species that normally travels at incredibly high speeds, Krakkl is exceptionally fast. He once raced against Wally West across the universe, forced to compete by alien gamblers who threatened both their homes. Krakkl isn’t just fast enough to keep up with Wally and escape a black hole – he has a unique ability that makes him even faster. He can tap into the combined energy of his entire race, giving him a massive speed boost and making him one of the fastest beings in the universe.

3) Impulse

Bart Allen, the grandson of Barry Allen from the future, possesses a natural link to the Speed Force – the source of super speed. However, this connection initially caused him to age at an accelerated rate. Seeking a solution, he traveled back in time to the present day, where Wally West helped him learn to control his abilities. As both Impulse and Kid Flash, Bart is one of DC’s fastest heroes. He’s demonstrated incredible feats, like outrunning Superboy Prime, escaping a black hole, and easily traveling across the DC Multiverse and through time. Notably, Bart is a living representation of the Speed Force itself and once saved it from disappearing entirely. Although his full potential remains somewhat unknown, he’s rapidly mastering his powers.

2) Barry Allen

After a lightning strike transformed forensic scientist Barry Allen, he became a master of the Speed Force – a source of incredible power. As the first Flash, he pioneered time travel and exploration of alternate realities by achieving unbelievable speeds. Barry continually tests the limits of what’s possible for speedsters. He can react in a tiny fraction of a second, has outrun cosmic entities, is faster than Superman, and once evacuated an entire country in mere seconds. He even accidentally reset the entire DC Multiverse when trying to change the past. His speed is so immense that he essentially powers the Speed Force itself, and a competition with another speedster, Wally, once put the entire multiverse at risk.

1) Wally West

Wally West is arguably DC Comics’ most deserving holder of the title ‘Fastest Man Alive.’ He began his career as Kid Flash after an accident mirroring his uncle Barry Allen’s, and later became the Flash when Barry died. He quickly surpassed his predecessor, routinely achieving incredible speeds and performing feats that defy the laws of physics and the very fabric of reality. Wally has outrun cosmic entities like the Black Flash and even the expansion of the universe, moved faster than teleportation, and once nearly broke the multiverse simply by running. However, his most remarkable feat remains exceeding the limits of the Speed Force itself.
