Summer is here, and Marvel Comics is releasing a fresh wave of new books this month. It feels like 2026 is flying by! It only seems like yesterday that the year began with the exciting Ultimate Endgame. Now, we’re seeing the continuation of the Ultimate Universe through the Reborn: Ultimate Impact Origin Boxes, and the main Marvel Universe is gearing up for Armageddon – the big event Marvel’s been hinting at for months. And that’s just a glimpse of everything Marvel has planned for June.
I’m still amazed that Marvel and Jay and Silent Bob are teaming up, especially since it’s written by Kevin Smith! And if you loved X-Men ‘97, you’ll be excited about X-Men ‘97: Season Two #1, a new comic series that leads directly into the show’s upcoming season. There are a lot of fantastic comics being released this month, including several new #1 issues perfect for both longtime fans and newcomers. Keep reading to find out about 5 Marvel Comics you won’t want to miss!
5. Jay and Silent Bob: Jays of Future Past #1

When Jay and Silent Bob from Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse teamed up with Archie Comics last year, it was surprising, but their next project is even wilder. Kevin Smith is bringing the iconic duo to the Marvel Universe in Jay and Silent Bob: Jays of Future Past #1, illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli. This time, Jay and Silent Bob find themselves targeted by Doctor Doom, and it’s up to all of Marvel’s superheroes to keep them safe. It’s a totally crazy concept, but any fan of Kevin Smith will definitely want to read it!
4. X-Men: ‘97: Season Two #1

I’m not a huge X-Men enthusiast, but I really enjoyed the ‘X-Men ’97’ series. Fans have been eagerly anticipating its return, and thankfully, Steve Foxe and Salva Espin are creating a comic to keep them satisfied until the new season arrives. ‘X-Men ’97: Season Two #1’ continues the story from the season one finale, bridging the gap to what’s coming next. Hopefully, this comic will have the same great feel as the show and fans will love it.
3. Queen in Black #1

Al Ewing continues his epic Venom storyline with the new miniseries, Queen in Black #1, illustrated by Iban Coello. The dark god Knull is assembling an army to wipe out Earth, but he’s been beaten to the punch by Hela and her symbiote forces. This issue pits two incredibly powerful and frightening villains against each other. While it’s best enjoyed by readers already familiar with Ewing’s recent work, it promises to be a large-scale, terrifying cosmic event.
2. Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1

Okay, so a new Spider-Man comic just dropped, and it’s wild. It’s called Spider-Man: Long Way Home #1, and it’s tying into the upcoming movie where Spidey teams up with the Hulk and Punisher. The story, from Jonathan Hickman and Adam Kubert, centers around Peter Parker, Frank Castle, and Bruce Banner trying to stop A.I.M. from getting their hands on a Cosmic Cube. Honestly, I’d normally be a little hesitant about a team-up like this, but both Hickman and Kubert are fantastic creators, and I’m really excited to see where they take this story. I’m definitely curious!
1. Avengers: Armageddon #1

It’s finally here! After a long build-up, the new Avengers event, Armageddon, is starting. Red Hulk is causing chaos worldwide, and it will take all of Marvel’s heroes to stop him. Marvel is promoting this as a huge turning point for their comics, promising a new era. It could be just hype, but this feels like an event you won’t want to skip.
