Alaskan Bush People’s Noah Brown Shares Matt Brown’s Last Words

Noah Brown didn’t leave anything unsaid in his final conversation with brother Matt Brown

Following the discovery of Matt’s body in Washington’s Okanogan River on May 30th, his brother shared memories of their last time together.

Noah, who appeared with his brother Matt and their family on the Discovery Channel show Alaskan Bush People from 2014 to 2022, told US Weekly that he briefly saw Matt the day before he disappeared. He described it as a quick wave while driving by and expressed regret that he didn’t have time to stop and talk. He acknowledged that he couldn’t change what happened.

Although their final moment together didn’t involve any words, Noah was glad his last meaningful conversation with Matt was sincere and honest.

Oh my gosh, I actually met him at the grocery store! It was so surreal. The last thing I blurted out was, ‘Okay, love you more, man!’ – that was our thing, you know? He always said we should tell people how you feel right before you leave them, because you just never know if it’ll be the last time you see them. And…and that was it. It just ended there. I can’t believe it was the last time…

As a longtime follower, I was really struck by Noah’s recent comments. He said things seemed okay between him and Matt before his passing, but he also admitted they weren’t as close as they used to be. There was still a bit of distance between them, even then, which is just heartbreaking to hear.

As time went on, I decided it was best to give him space to do what he wanted,” Noah explained. “Having a big family can be tough on people, and there wasn’t much I could do about it. I just wanted him to be able to live his life.”

Despite a previous statement from his brother, Bear Brown, that Matt, age 43, had taken his own life, Noah admitted he wished he’d spent more time with him.

He admitted he always wished he’d done more, regardless of how much he actually accomplished. It’s a common feeling, he added, to look back and want to have done even more.

Bear confirmed the death of Matt on May 30th, stating that Noah helped retrieve his body from the river where it was discovered. While an official cause of death hadn’t been determined yet, Bear believed his brother, who had been missing since May 27th, had taken his own life.

As I said before, he went through a difficult period for a while,” the 38-year-old explained in a TikTok video posted May 30th. “I feared he would overdose or something similar, but I never imagined he’d hurt himself. It appears the injury was self-inflicted.

Even though it was hard to tell you about Matt’s disappearance and passing, Bear wanted to make sure you heard the news directly from his family.
